Call this evening from this number,  no message left

call came several times. Unknown.  Tonight I picked up the phone and lady asked if had began receiving my recent subscription to St. Louis Post Dispatch. I confirmed.  But...leary...the Post is a local number and I have never received a call for out of town for a local transaction with the Post.

Fourth "UNAVAILABLE" call in three days...all from different area codes, no messages left and all numbers reported on this site.

In FOUR days, this is the FOURTH call I've received on my cell phone with only a phone number . . . and then it winds up as a "missed call." I don't like to answer if I don't recognize the number. And of course, again they didn't leave a message. I recently started subscribing to the Southern Illinoisan newspaper. I'm wondering if they gave out my cell phone number. I intend to write them and request a response. If they did give out my number, I'm also requesting that they cease this practice . . . not just for me, but for others. (What's the point of these anyway? I don't want my cell phone number given to others without my permission.)

Received a call asking if my newspaper was being delivered as ordered. Then stated I was scheduled to receive a newspaper on Thursday but my order is actually only for the weekend paper. No other informtion requested.

I received a call from these people at 6:48 at night asking to renew my Southern Illinoisan newspaper subscription.  Skeptical I called the paper myself and they verified they have out of state telemarketers that call for renewals.

pretty sure this has to do with my late payment for my newspaper.  if you're getting this too you might want to check your renewal date.

got a call from 269-290-7122, i am in alaska, did not answer it as was unknown to me, they left no message.  feels kinda fishy.

GRR! I recently subscribed to the Desert Sun Newspaper. I received my 1st paper last Sunday. On Sunday morning I answered a call from a weird number which turned out to be a lady from the newspaper. I told her I received my paper and everything was just freakin' peachy.  Since then I have received 6 more damn courtesy calls from random numbers all going back to the same message!

"Hi. This is your newspaper. Sorry we missed you earlier today. We were calling to check on your service and to make sure everything was going ok and to see if you have any questions. If you do, please feel free to give us a call. Thanks so much. Buh-bye. BEEP"

I called the Desert Sun and asked to be removed from ANY phone contact. Get a hold of me by mail. I'm going to leave a message on this machine thing requesting to be removed from their courtesy call list as my number is already on the Do-Not-Call list and they are supposed to cross-reference BEFORE they spam people. If it doesn't stop, I'll just cancel the paper. Screw it.

March 2010, someone from this number calls my cell phone several times a week...along with 707-2222-8149 and 603-244-3973...seems like they call within minutes or hours of each other, but since I work and can't answer every call, they always appear as 3 missed calls, all in a row...suspect that maybe a central calling service may be auto calling from set lists.  No messages left from any of them.  VERY ANNOYING

Start calling and harassing these people. This is the company making ALL of the calls from ALL of the different phone numbers from this single location. They use a "spoofing" gadget that can generate any caller ID number they desire, making it look like the calls are coming from AL, NH, CA, MI, and wherever they choose. This is ILLEGAL. You newspaper also has some nerve SELLING your phone number to these bozos without your permission. I recommend everyone CANCEL your subscription. It WAS YOUR NEWSPAPER WHO GAVE OUT THE NUMBER! If they deny it, they are LYING. File a complaint with the BBB, ant the FTC against BOTH of them!

This number just called me - so I called it back and it is a newspaper satisfaction survey, which makes sense because I just signed up for the local newspaper...  When I called the number back, it said that they must call me back to get the survey.  So, when they call again, just answer and tell them you want them to take your number off the list.

Have received a call from this number three times a day for the last week. Using the above info, I called them directly to inform them that A) I don't subscribe to *any* newspapers to begin with, and B) the number they are calling me at is a cell phone. I asked to be removed from their database, to which the gentleman started to stall, until I told him that I would call him back every ten minutes and put the phone up to my son's stereo at it's highest setting until he removed my number from their database. Having seen the error of his ways, he then promised to do so immediately.

Live in LA. was the first day they called me today but since i dont pick up numbers foreign to me or just no number at all, they persisted to try 4 more times into the afternoon; no message. Good thing I was curious enough to do some research today vs. the usually lazy me who wouldn't bother to look into it. The number was "269 290 7122"; alternative number being -unknown number-. Annoying indeed.
