SO my parents got this call from 12693434222 on Monday, supposedly it belongs to someone named John Barton.  He said that he was from Westmac in Kalamazoo michigan.  Asking if i was still interesting in a job.  Well heres the thing, i never even heard of this place, but i'm new to kalamazo,so i called him back.  He didn't answer the first time, so i gave him my cell and told him to call me back.  Well, he did and was very vague about what this company does, saying that they are a Health and Wellness company.  I asked him how he got my phone number, and he said that someone had refered me.  Well here's the funny thing, i NEVER give out my parents number, i don't even live there anymore, have for like 9 months, and I havne't used their number for anything for years! (thats why i got a cell) SO i decided to see what this is all about and i have an interview with them tomorrow at 1pm.  I"m guessing this is somehow a scam, but i'm willing to see what happens.  i'll let everyone know!~Maria
P.S. this company is supposedly on Sprinkle, just south of Killgore.  The address is 5148 Sprinkle Rd. Kalamazoo, Mi.  They are supposedly in the same complex/office as Centennial wireless.  WIsh me luck!

Got a phone call from Jenna- 269-382-0375 on wednesday and set up an interview for today. She said it was a health and wellness company and it didn't really matter what experience I had. I DO have experience and when I asked her what she already knew about me it became obvious that she didn't know ANYTHING! I also tried to get her to email me information and she wouldn't and she could not tell me where she got my number- just that she was "referred" from her "boss" and was asked to follow up. I decided not to go in on Friday and called to reschedule and she was really annoyed and said she wanted to get me in ASAP to get things going and rescheduled me for Tuesday. I then asked her then name of the company, got this website and realized the sham. I left a message on her machine (she didn't answer when I called her back again) giving her the name of this website and telling her I would do a police report.

They are getting numbers from college directories.
Someone that may go to WMU is involved with the scam, brings in a student book with contact info, and they start making calls asking if they are seeking "full or part time employment."

Total scam though. They want you to pay $300 to invest in a business plan, and then sign you up for their weekend trip which is another $300.

I got the call at around 11am asking if anybody had called them from my phone number looking for a job. I had said it was unlikely, so the guy asked me if I would be interested in a job. Hell, why not. So they asked me a bunch of questions typical of an employer, such as whether or not I went to school, if I was currently employed, what other job experience I had, and so on. They said they were a health and wellness (Kind of redundant I think) company. And they scheduled an interview for the same day and gave me directions to their place. They said it was in the same building as Centennial Wireless. After I got off the phone I decided to google the address to make sure they had given me the right directions. And then I had seen this page so I figured I'd take a gander. After all the things I've read I decided not to go.
Also, the number they gave me was 269-381-8381, and they told me to ask for Brady when I got there. The name of the place was WestMac or something to that effect.

WOW! I must have been one of the FIRST recipients of this! I got a call probably 4 or 5 months ago from "WestMac Health and Wellness." I was VERY confused about what it was since I hadn't applied anywhere. The only thing I could think of was that (I'm a WMU Student) and had recently created a BroncoJobs.com account, but I saw the article in the Herald today...WEIRD!

same as everyone else. Cheryl called my parents from 269-342-5770. about a job. WestMac sounds a lot like a theatre i was trying to get a job with and figured my dad was just saying it wrong so i called back! realized it wasnt but i still need a job so i set up an appointment! Thanks for all your posts so i know not to go

had a call from john barton also.  I never called back and i will also be going to WMu next year.  glad i found this information on the web about it.  helped me not to waste my time.

Same thing happened to me today, and i'm glad that you put this info up. I have been looking for a job hard core since i graduated from WMU in Dec. I had got a call a copy of weeks ago, from a head hunter recruiter and thought this might be the same from some where I posted my resume. I was confused that no company name was given, and that i had to ask her the name of the company. I also spoke with Jenna, and I'm really werided out, I don't think i'm going to go to the interview and hope they leave me ago.

Yeah, i got a call from "jenna" and she did not answer when I called her. I looked up anything on west michigan advanced concepts and nothing shows up. Dont be like every other gullable person and fall for scams.
