They called me at 10:50am today. Name John Barton. Told me WMAC. 5100 S. Sprinkle, Bldg 5148. He said it was a job in teaching, training and recruiting. This whole thing sounds like a perfume scam I was involved with over in Detroit, but a lot worse. He asked me the same type of questions everyone else here is saying. I've seen the yellow post it stickers on cars in the area and campus as well. I knew those were bogus. I am also a WMU Alumni. I hope someone out there has a police report filed, at least with Campus police. He made me an appt for tomorrow at 6pm. My car is shotty and I decided to come here and look it up. Thanks for the info. Not going to show up or call now. Hope they get the point! Yay for the internet helping unsuspecting job hunters like us!

I just received a call earlier from John Barton 870.8074 and he had me really interested in some kind of a health part-time job where I could use my holistics degree....I am obviously not going to the interview that I scheduled tomorrow at 6:30 but I am going to drive by the office building bc it is pretty close and see what it is all about....does anyone know what the next step would be to stop these people from whatever they are doing?
I am not even sure what would happen if someone were to go to the interview? Do they just scam you into doing something?
This is all so odd!?

I have been to an "interview."

Basically what happens is that you go into a room filled with other people dressed up with a theatre like setting. You watch a video about a great life oportunity. Then they introduce their vitamins and other health products. (That have no merit from the FDA)

Once that is done, they pull you aside individually and try to pressure you into selling thier products and joining up, as well as signing up for a weekend in Chicago to attend "University of Success"- their answer to the Amway weekend hype events.

It was a total waste of my time, and I told the guy so who called me. These people need to be shut down by the FTC. Clearly this is illegal.

Well I thought it was weird that I received a phone call today from Brady at 381-8381. He was wondering if I needed part time/full time employment. I said yes considering I am a college student trying to make more money. I asked did I sign up for anything and he told me I was referred but he did not have the papers in front of him. I was very persistent on what this company did he claimed it was a health & wellness company. I also kept asking what I would be doing, his answer was very vague. I was still confused on the location so I typed in the address and this link came up. I called to cancel my interview for tomorrow. Thanks for all the info.

I can understand that everyone here seems to go to WMU..to receive these calls *or atleast are in the area, but i dont go to WMU and much less even live in the MI or so area..i am way over in the west coast region.  should i call them back and tell them i would like to reschedule my interview due to the fact that my flight was delayed??!! LMAO

PS on a serious matter: i wonder if anyone thought bout going to that interview with a cop..see if this place really does exist..with whatever company name they claim to be! And cant the police dept do anything bout this or tries to stop these type of scam at all?????? they are like waiting for something really bad to happen first before they take actions!!??

This place does exist. The company sells nutrtion products. The people selling them get paid. I don't know what is so weird about that. I found a website for the the location in Kzoo (www.kcwc.info). Many cops are customers with this company. What would a cop should it down for???? Calling people? Are you kidding? Their products have a money back gaurantee even.

I sent a complaint to the local news station and gave them the reported numbers for WestMac and told them they should do an undercover investigation.

According to other websites, Tim Woodcox is the owner of the store, office, whatever, and he should be held responsible.

I encourage ANYONE contacted by this company to call the police and the Michigan State Attorney General's office. They are operating this scam in Kzoo, Grand Rapids, Pontiac, and Lansing. They clearly need to be stopped.

Last time I checked it is illegal to call and offer people employment and misrepresent yourself if you are an MLM company. These people are blatantly calling to see if you are looking for full or part time employment, they invite you to an "interview" which is a high pressure sales scam!

http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/350/RipOff0350943.htm
Read it and weep people.

And from the website JOSH posted: www.kcwc.info:

"We are currently expanding in the area! We represent manufactures in the health and wellness industry through independent business partners. An overview not an interview so you’ll get a chance to meet a few of our associates and get more facts and information about our company. Plan on about 30 minutes to an hour for our appointment. Call for an appointment today!"

Clearly these interviews are false statements as they make the claim that an "overview" is not an interview, but they invite people to one.

These people wasted 3 hours of my time one day, before I threw a hissy fit and finally screamed and caused a scene to get out of there.

I received a message from Brady (381-8381).  I talked to Brady and received the same sketchy details as others.  Only difference is that I graduated from Cornerstone University, not WMU.  I appreciate the information shared here.
