oh mty gosh im, so happy they called and asked for my parents and i thought tht i was in like a s*** load of trouble!!!

This person called, and usually a telemarketer asks for my father's (I am 17 years old) or mother's name, but this person said "I'd like to speak to (my name)'s father." I didn't know what to say, but i called back on *67 and it sounds like a SAT/ACT helping thing. Caller ID came through Niles MI.

They have called my house twice when we where not home.  The third time on the same day, I might add, I answered.  The call was made to me at 9:00 at night by the way.  He asked to speak to one of the parents of my daughter and he said her name.  My response was-"Who's this?" He said he was with Word Smart and that my daughter had filled out something at school wanting information on scoring higher on the S.A.T.'s.  Anyway, to make a long  story short, after he explained about the program and how it works I said, "Well, let me get your name and phone number and I will talk it over with my husband and I will call you back." He said in order to get the student discount I would have to reserve it on my Debit or Credit Card with this particular phone call.  I immediately said,"Oh, well, then no, never mind, I'm not........" He hung up real quick in my face.  Who in their right mind would give someone their credit or debit card number over the phone to someone they don't even know?  Especially to a business that calls YOUR house at 9:00 at night?  By the way--I first asked him to mail me the information on everything and he told me, "Well we would be mailing out the whole package with the information too. He said it was a 30 day trial offer, it you liked it you would keep it and pay $169.99.  If you did not like it, just send it back and you pay nothing.

Do not call again.

when my mom called back someone answered and said 'bueno' O_o

The lady was SO RUDE on the phone!  This is the 5th or 6th call within a week!  She was insistent that she KNEW all about us and that we homeschooled etc.  I asked where she got her information from and she said from the homeschool association.  I told her she was NUTS and that there isn't just one homeschool association for the entire USA!  NUTCASE!!!

She ended hanging up on me!

I have received several calls from this number, but they always hang up.  Very frustrating!!

They quit calling for quite awhile, but started up last week again! I am sure it has to do with my teenager! (but nothing that she did!) Rude & annoying telemarketers!! I tell them that I used to have a job like theirs, way back in the day, (like the 80's! lol!) so nothing they could say would get me to even consider any kind of business OR transaction with them... nothing slows them down.. then I ask if they have trouble sleeping at night or looking at themselves in the mirror in the morning? (Yeah like THAT would do any good... HA!) Well, that's why I quit this nasty profession!!

I keep getting calls from 269-537-2097 too and I'm getting sick of it. I'm supposed to be on the Do Not Call list. How can we make this stop?

Yeah, these ppl called me too, asking for my mother. Funny thing, it was my cell # they called and I have a go phone which means my name doesn't show up on it. A lady asked for my mother(who has a different last name than me), scared me .

it takes 31 days for www.dontcall.gov to keep these people from harrassing my cell phone! Isn't there a quicker more effective route?

i've added 269-537-2097 to be blocked at www.dontcall.gov but can't wait the 31 days so i just got off the phone with verizon wireless - if that's your carrier call them and they will block this number for free!

also - i called 269-537-2097 yesterday and followed their vm to have me removed from there list - today I've got numerous calls to my cell phone! it doesn't work its like they'll call more. go to dontcall.gov and then speak to your phone carrier!

i've familarized their number and will never answer the call and after reading everyone's messages here i can't help put wonder why isn't Wordsmart under watch, i'm going to check out the Better Business Bureau and see if they've got marks against them, if not i'm filing mine!

UPDATE - I've been stalker free from 269-537-2097 since speaking with Verizon and having them block that incoming #!

269-537-2097 The Learning Center telemarketing the "WordSmart" software package. Very persistent, I have warned them twice next time I'm reporting to the Attorney General.

They said, "It's a rat" and hung up on me.

Are these a**es breaking the law if you are on the 'do not call' list?  I am sick of them calling everyday; I never answer, but still, they call.  This is what society has become and is allowed to become... you are nothing but a consumer and the gov will not protect you from people selling, selling and selling, regardless.  I pay for my phone, and that should be respected.
