gosh trying real hard aren't they i just got this call too about 5mins ago lol.

I got this call today, who is this?  Caller ID says J Mayben.

Just got this call again here in Canada. They call 2 or 3 times a week.

I just got this call too!  They didn't leave a message so I called it back and it says it's been disconnected...?  Who is this person?

Scammmer.... its the smae old macys, sears, etc one... added it to my block list. Goodbye 269 area code.

Yep, we got one at 1:27 p.m. EST today (14Jan08) in Ottawa, ON, Canada.

Got this call for winning a free 5 days vacation because someone entered my phone number in a prize draw.

"Please hang on for an important message about your car insurance..." Click. Frakking computer autodialers! If someone finds a fax number on these fucktards, post it here and we can cost them some paper and toner. The only thing that gets these idiots' attention is if you hit them in the wallet.

I received a call about a free vacation.  When I press "1" to transfer to an operator I reached a rep. "Ryan".  I told him I'm on the Do-Not-Call list and to remove my number.  He hung up...  This number calls about three times a week at all hours.

I've been getting calls from these creeps two to three times a week . I live in Alberta. Have always just hung up. Until yesterday. Listened to the whole message about how I or someone else had entired my name and I had won a vacation. At the end, I was asked to press 1 for more information, or press three to decline. I pressed 1, thinking I would talk to a person. I then asked them to removed my name from their calling list. After verifying my number, a man said "that is a twenty-five dollar 'kick-in' fee. Sorry. good night"

After reading the varied comments from everyone, I will add mine.  It is fairly easy to alter Caller ID.  This number is probally being used as a "screen" by several people with different purposes. I also received a call (but only one) so in my case I think it is a private investigator looking for information OR my boyfriend's wife.

- the 269 area code is Michigan (Allegan, Battle Creek, Benton Harbor, Kalamazoo, South Haven)
- they must be awful busy as I too get this phone number calling me numerous times every week in Barrie, Ontario
- I never answer it so I don't know what they want

Just received a call from this number at about 10:30 a.m. Called back and an automated message stated, "You have reached Customer Service Automated Call Center, please press 1 to have your number removed or press 2 to speak to a live operator." I pressed one and followed the prompts to have our business number removed from their system. Hope it works.
