The number appears in my cell call log, 281-413, and I do not hear a ring only receive a missed call notice and when I call back I hear a notice that the number can not be reached. I do believe it is a automated voice message but not from my service provider or an operator but is actually generated by the receiving end. I think they are just capturing info. I return missed calls because of the type of business I am in.

1 ring, but just hung up - 3:22 pm May 30, 2008.  I'm in Houston 281-414-... its my first call from this number to my cell phone. I never get any calls from telemarketers on my cell...

Called my cell and would not even ring when I returned the call. Tried it on a land line and it did not ring on there either.

im 281-450-xxxx. seems like their just scrolling through with a computer or something. I live in Indiana now, but my cell# is based in Houston (obviously with the 281).

Received one ring from that number, no message at 10:30 pm here in Houston. Seems like the same trick everyone else mentioned....I found out that it is a blocked number from Bellevue, MI

I just got a call about 30 min ago (10:16pm) to my cell: 281-450-XXXX and my husband got the same call at 5:16pm this afternoon.  281-433-XXXX. We have AT&T as a provider in the Houston area.  What the heck is this?  VERY strange........

Another 281 in Houston and at 359am.  Rang once and hung up.

Called at 3:50am. No message. (The phone was on silent so the call was not answered)

My cell starts with 281-468

I too got a call from (269) 768-2092 at 3:49 a.m. CST on my cell phone

called at 3:24am june 1st on my phone, and called at 10:36pm May31st.  obviously we missed it, and were suprised to see this web page, ha ha.

Other than them trying to find out what numbers are legit, is there anything we can do about it?

I got the call at 1:30 am. must be a verizon thing. About a yr ago when we got a homeline from verizon this same thing happened excepty there were actual people trying to sale stuff. Now it's on my cell.. grrrrrrr

Called me at 1:16am, June 1st; I'm in Houston as well. No message.

This number called me at 3:45am.  I didn't try back.  It's a landline though.

Also........I'm in Houston area

This # called my cell phone at 3:00 am this morning and then my home # at 6:00 am. I am with AT&T on both lines but the accounts are not linked. I tried to call back on my home line and it would not even ring. I do not know anyone or work w/ anyone in Michigan (no link there).
