For all the people who live in Texas that are getting these annoying calls, please file a complaint as soon as you can with the Texas Attorneys general Office. The online info link is:

Report that the non-profit political action group USAVOTERS.ORG is responsible for making these illegal calls, because that's who is doing it.

Just got the call at 9:37am 281-685 in the Houston area as well. Lucky I guess that it wasn't in the early morning hours.

Got this call June 5'08 9:25 am in Houston. Did not answer it cause I was on another call. Glad I did not bother.

Received a call today (6/5/08) from 269-768-2097.  Called back, got message "all systems are busy now"

Called this morning @ 09:41 a.m., rang twice, hung up and did not leave a message.

Called at 9:17 AM Central Time....No message

Rang once at 1:37pm central time.  No message left.

Wife and I both got one-ring calls on 6/1 at 3:20AM.

just called at 2:10pm,called back rang once then silence.

I got a call from that exact number. and it only rang once.

A broken autodialer may be the cause of this annoying trend.  It's a non-profit group - USAVOTERS.org - that is making the calls (and pissing a lot of people off in the process).  Their website is useless as far as trying to contact them, as it is simply a two-function site - register and donate options only - with no links to actually contact someone and tell them their autodialer may be broken and/or to stop making these very annoying calls, especially the early morning ones (which are illegal even for a non-profit to be making, as is calling a persons cell phone.

Yea, I just got a call, too.  281-782...  Houston.  From what I can read the autodialer explanation sounds plausible.  Stupid bot has cycled through 281 numbers from way back in the 200 exchanges.  The Texas AG takes this stuff seriously, so report usavoters.org.

269.768.2092 called me during lunch time, I was on a conference call. Whoever it was did not leave a message and when I went to call them back it never connected. I live in Houston Texas and the phone number came from michigan.

I have a Texas cell number and just missed a call from 269-768-2092. I tried calling it back but it won't connect. They did not leave a message.
