I have the same problem.  Where did you find info. on the DNC?

Same problem here.  It's so annoying!  I hate telemarketer calls!  Here is a link that explains how to do the whole "do not call" thing, and also provides info about reporting them if the problem continues.

if you have every downloaded anything to your phone (ringtones,etc.) this is how they get your number.

These people get your number when you download anything to your cell phone like  (ringtones, etc.) I just downloaded a ringtone and they immediately start calling.  I didnt recognize the number, so I Google it while they were ringing my cell and came to this forum...

Caller said "Hi!" and then just hung up.

Received call on my private office line this morning. Went to voice mail. Referred to me by my last name. Have no idea how he got that as this is an interior phone system & call did not come through the receptionist & I don't give my last name in my greeting. Referred to fact that this was my "last courtesy call" regarding my credit cards & it was "imperative" that I return call to get that "1% rate" just another scam artist!

Heads up!  Yup.

I answered my phone on a second ring a few minutes ago to hear the Hello of a male caller whose voice was not-unwarm and somewhat welcoimng.  I think I said "hello" in reply...silence...then I said "Hi...Hi" sweet and chirpy like then just hung up.

But it irked me.  For some reason I googled the number after a *69 on my landline phone that will probably cost me a dollar, retrieved the number, and googled.

It all led me here.  And what strangeness I ahve found.

1-800-978-4581 callback number.  Can get your telephone provider to call on your behalf and arrange DNC.

Yeah, they called here too.  Just hi...and silence...blah.  Just says MD on caller ID

Recieved a call  MD 269-768-2180 ,same as most other results ,caller said Hi , then silence.Hung up.

So this lady calls my cell every day and leaves me a message saying that I need to call them back and that its really important about my credit debt and that this will be the last time she will call.  Well thats a load of crap!  She has called for the last time for that past month and the really funny thing is she says she is calling to try and help me resolve my credit card debt... I dont have any!  Wow... what some people will do for money!

The caller did the same with me. He called and said hi then hung up.

Caller said Hi. I said Hi. Waited. I asked "Who is this" and caller disconnected. Caller ID listed phone as 269-768-2180 with MD as name.

Forgot to mention that the call was on 10/20/08 @ 9:05am.

Dude called this morning and did the "hi" thing that everyone is talking about. Methinks they (this weird companies employees) are coming on here and looking at all this and laughing and having fun because obviously noone is going to give them a dime. So if they are reading this, I would like to say "hi, you're not funny and sooner or later you will get in trouble for playing on the phone. Call me again, you'll see!"

Callback numbers are 1-800-709-0241, 1-800-709-8793. Arrange DNC for all affiliated/associated/connected companies. File complaint, documented, fines. Possibly charges laid. Be heard.

caller to my business phone...has repeatedly called and said Hi and then silence.

Have been getting this call number: 269-768-2180 and when I answered the other party hangs up.

10/29/08 received a call from this number and all the man said was hi. Very annoying.

the number calls every single day...I am trying to take care of a newborn and want to get to the phone when it rings, but when I pick up because I live not far from that area code it always go silent
