There was a recording that said he was from the IRS but when I call back the person answering the phone only says, "The person you are trying to reach is unavailable."

Recorded message that does not say who the company is, says his name is Shaun White.  And said if I didn't call back I will just have to "watch the legal situaton unfold on you."

Received a call, didn't answer, message left was from Shaun White, stating "If I do not return the call, he will watch the legal situation unfold on me...  I blocked the number.

Received a call, didn't answer, message left was from Shawn White, stating "Every second counts, Either you or your attorney must return this call.  If you do not return the call, he will watch the legal situation unfold on you".  I returned the call and the phone just rang and rang.  I repeatedly returned the call and finally got an answering machine.  I left a message and he never called back.  I finally reached him and he answered the phone identifying himself as an IRS tax agent.  When I told him who I was, he hung up.

caller said he was from IRS!  It was a recording and said if myself or my attorney doesn't call back  will just watch this unfold!  These foreigners needs to find real jobs or go back to where they came from!  Take my number off call list!

Received a call with a voice foreign accented recording from Shawn White, stating "Every second counts, Either you or your attorney must return this call.  If you do not return the call, he will watch the legal situation unfold on you".  I returned the call knowing that it was a scam.  I asked "Shawn" just what kind of officer he was and he hung up on me then blocked my number.  I called "Shawn" from several other numbers and he blocked those too.  He is obviously preying on stupid people and will ignore the smart ones.  I am reporting to the FBI.

Same as all the others.  You know darn well this it not from the IRS.

Caller said he was from the IRS. Another scam.  Why are these people not getting a regular job and leave the elderly people alone?i was told if I did not return the  call  there willbe legal consequences fallen on me.the scam all gave to quit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a call from this number today. I didn't answer and the person calling (who had a heavy accent) left a message saying that his name was Shaun White. He said that either I or an attorney should call back as soon as I received his message and that failure to do this would result in "the legal situation unfolding on me".  I would love to actually call this number back and give this guy some trouble, but who has the time?

These are criminal extortionists operating in overseas boiler rooms using VOIP to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement.

It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

message left on my work voicemail.  Exact same message as everyone before from a Shawn White "you or your attorney must return this call immediately or watch the legal situation unfold on you".  What does that even mean.  No company name.  No details.

I also got this call and return the call. A guy received a call and asked my name. I told my name then he hung up.  Is this a scam?

276-451-2101  Claims to be with the IRS.  Claimed to be Joan white, and tried to disguise their voice.   Said if I didn't  call back I'd face the consequences etc.. SCAM!  I reported them to the REAL IRS.

and she only calls and says that he is calling from the FEDERAL IRS and if he doesn't hear back from me or my attorney it'll fall on my head the number is 276 451 2101 when you call back it only rings 4 times and then disconnects

Well, just received a call from this number...off course I returned the call.  Mr. Shawn White was not available buy his compadre tried to be very helpful until I asked him for his full name, manager name and agent number.  He gave said "F OFF LADY" hang hang up.

I answered the call from this number, but it only showed Virginia, no name. Sounded like a recording, but I couldn't be sure, he may have been reading his script. Had an Indian accent. But the usual IRS scam crap like others have posted, "you or your attorney" etc. Hung up.

Recording VA tax scam

I don't like when people are trying to get my hard earned money and perpetrated to be the irs

i tried & tried to call back 276-445-2101 which he (Shawn white ) said we needed to get an attorney. The number he called was 276-451-2101. The area was VA USA. He said we needed to hire another if we didn't cooperate, something about the IRS. We do know any one with the number.

Just received a call, did not answer and Shawn White left a message which said the same thing as he told you...about having my attorney contact him or the legal matte will unfold. I blocked the number.
