DId not pick up call.  Caller ID shows caller as IRIS Alert.  THey did not leave a message on my service.

Identical messages were left on my service for both 281-207-4857 and 281-207-4890.  It was a recorded message for a meeting for our alternative high school in the area and that there was an information meeting .  If I wanted more information they asked me to call 813-223-3335.
THis appears to be some osort of messaging system being used by Hilldborough COunty School distric in Tampa FL.

I had the same call today and the caller id said Iris alert

281-207-4890:  I just received a call too (Tues/9-11-07/10:30am).  I've gotten calls from the Hillsborough County alert system before during this school year; but they had actual messages.  Maybe this one was a fluke?

I called the number back and it had my number stored for a message.   the message was a reminder that my sons school gets out early tomorrow.

I assume if your school subscribes to this service it would then call all the parents.
Duval county school system (jacksonville Fl)

Just got a phone call from that phone number in Baytown, the city that uses the area code. It simply reported that my school will start 2 hours late on the 13th due to tropical storm Humberto hitting us directly.
If you are in the area and want info, it applies to all GCCISD schools. www.gccisd.net SHOULD provide updates.

Please stop calling me with IRIS alerts I have no children in school.

I've received the IRIS ALERT call to advise me of my children's early release day tomorrow. Neat, I thought. It called me 13 more consecutive times. I had to turn off my ringers, it was driving me nuts. Fortunately it quit before I finished pounding out this message.

At some point, someone attending school had that #- either that or it's a typo. Call the school itself and ask them to remove it from their system.

I've received a call saying it is from the Faith Family Academy about a school closing/opening/whatever.  I've had a number of these calls over the last few months and don't have any kids in the school.

Looking at the internet, the calls appear to be made by the IRIS (Immediate Response Information System), run by a company called TechRadium in Houston.

I've tried to e-mail them at support@useiris.com

Followup:  Complaining to Techradium at support@useiris.com was successful.  They located the school and removed my phone number from the list.

Wensday 2-6-08 8am.got acall from Iris alert saying schoolwill let out early. I don't live in this area code. I'm in 979 area and am 75 years old ,don't have any school aged children. I have been getting these messages for about a year without being able to fine the prty sending them.

i keep getting calls from iris alert I NEVER HAD A KID HOW can you stop them, cant call back you only get the same stupid message

This is a school alert system.  I do not have any children!  
The recording continues even when I hang up, so that I cannot hang up and then make a call, but have to wait for the recording to finish.  I do not want calls from Iris Alert or from this number.

It's IRIS, an emergency/information line that schools use to contact parents to get urgent information out quickly to mass families.  Our school district, Hillsborough County, Florida, uses it.  If sending an email to support@useiris.com doesn't work, contact your local county school board office and they should be able to assist you.

Message from this # was recorded from the super. at the high school my son attends.  It was to inform of an H1N1 clinic in the area.
