Got a phone call from someone claiming to be with United Legal Investigators. He said his name was Richard Johnson, a very American name, yet I could barely understand his heavy middle eastern accent. He said that I was being sued and I should let him brief me on the case so that I could get it settled before it goes to court. I had this same thing happen to me about 6 months ago from a number in California. When I told him this he became very defensive and started yelling at me that I will seriously regret being rude to him and I will be reported to U.S. marshals and my family and I would suffer greatly. These people, whoever they are, have my mother and my daughter's numbers and have called them harassing them to get me to settle this or they will be in trouble also because their names are in legal documents as well. I hope others read this and don't fall victims to these terrible people I was lucky enough that my father happened to be there the first time they called and took the phone when he saw how upset I was. I was prepared the second time they called. It saddened me to think how much money they ate stealing from poor unsuspecting people.

I have had the same experience, except this guy has impersonated a law enforcement officer and I turned them into the FBI.  DO NOT CALL THEM BACK, DO NOT ANSWER THE CALL. Contact your local Law Enforcement or the FBI's Fraud Unit.  Also contact your local TV news station.

I have had also the same horrible experience,he pretended to be a United States Investigator.He also used  an american name David Jones,yet I could barely understand anything he said. His accent was heavy middle eastern. He harassed my niece.He even called my job,but I answered the phone and pretended to be somelse and started give out my information to a total stranger.He introduce himself as a United States Investigators telling my personal business.He made the statement that Iwas be investigated for fraud on my Social Sercurity Number.He didnot know that the person he was talking to was the person he called for,instead he is tell my personal business to a total strange.I hang up the phone and he actually called back,I answered the again this time I let him know him that it was me that he was talking too that time.I let him know that next we talk it willbe with attorney.He hangup and I have not heard from him again.Something needs to be done about this some type of legal action needs to be taken,there as to be a law against things like this!

I have constantly received phone calls at work from this Indian accent guy claiming to be officer Daniel White from the Law and Investigation. I am so angry because this same people called about 3 months ago harassing me telling my I am being sued and I need to pay them within 24 hours.  24 hours came and went and they ain't knocking at my door. Today he left a message at my job saying that my social security number is under investigation but he is so STUPID because it was not my social security number. I hope this people will be stopped.

Same person called saying he was an officer called back and they say I owe $300 dollars or they're going to take me to court... should I pay???

i had the same thing happen to me i had this middle eastern sounding guy call me from a different number each time he called me and i could tell it was fake because it was one digit longer than a regular american number and i cannot receive international calls on my phone and he told me that my name and social security number are being investigated for fraud and he left me a voice mail telling me to call me back at 281-220-8455 and when i called it back nobody answered it said that the extention that i was trying to reach was unavailable. but im from texas and i know that the area code (281) is from houston

Legal Investigation Department called from Medical Law division saying that I needed to speak with their senior attorney. Named Sean Marshall - extremely thick Indian accent said that I need to have my attorney call him over a serious issue and that if I don't then good luck to me.

I have had the same thing happen for 2 years now. Very heavy accent but in america you would receive a bill stating how much you owe. I have never been sent a bill and they keep harrassing me they will call 20 times in an hour. Stupid ass theives is all they are and very bad at it, nobody should pay someone who cant speak english. They got ahold of all our information from websites like cash advances, etc. I applied for a cash advance and was denied and they said I got the money and never paid it back. Didnt happen stupid idiots i cant beleive someone that stupid would call and expect people to fall for there scheme. M y guys name is Gary Jones supposably.

The number is 281-220-8455 They are harrassing me and I want it to stop immediately!!! I have gotten this call from these people as well.  I fell for it the first time.  When I told the lady on the phone that I thought this was a scam, she hung up on me.  This make me furious

I, too, have been getting the same phone calls from this man who calls himself an officer from a fraud investigative unit.  He changes his name often and his phone number, but it is always the same person.  He shouts into the phone and now is calling sometimes up to 14 times in a row. I'm not returning the calls but he does occasionally call my elderly parents and get them upset, even though I've explained the situation to them. I agree that something must be done about these people.  Thanks for the info on shared experiences and possible ways to deal with them.

I have been getting these types of calls for almost a year. I have made police reports and even changed my phone number. The calls stopped for a couple of months only to come from a different number, but the same voices with heavy accents that I can barely understand. The numbers I have received calls from so far are 760-273-4614, 347-229-1908, and 281-220-8455. I again spoke with the police who said they have been after these guys for sometime with no success even for those who have lost money to them. His suggestion is do not answer the phone to any number unknown to me. If it is important, they will leave a message. Advice which I have already been using on my own before tonight. The man leaves messages and has used the names Larry Johnson, Edward Levi and Eric Brown always "officer". I was able to use the "block" feature on my cell, unfortunatly home phones do not have this or I would use it.
The important thing is to know it is a scam and not to fall for any of it. Don't indulge these people by talking to them at all. Because of these calls, I do not allow my children to answer so they are not harrassed or scared by people such as this.

These people are harrassing me got a call from Officer Sean Marshall heavy accent couldnt understand a word he said saying he is a  Attorney stating im being investigated and sued for some cash advance Im thinking he couldnt decide whether he was an officer or attorney.  When I told him I didnt know what he was talking about he put a "senior attorney" on the phone some heavily accented woman who told me to pay 300.00 and that "the police are coming, they are going to put me behing the bars".  To which I replied "send them over" and hung up.

Today I get to work where a message is waiting for me from Sean Marshall threatening me to call back or all he can say to me is "good luck".  I told my boss so we called them back and asked for their tax id# they didnt know what that is... asked for their address to send a payment they wouldnt give me an address we insisted finally he hung up.  incidentally when we called from my work today they asked if it was me calling so they know when you call.  I called this cash advance place that I owed the supposed money to they verified they have no account for me.

These idiots need to be stopped and soon had they have gotten my son he would have freaked and paid them.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to stop these jerks

I have had this guy/team call me twice in a 3 year period. It is such a SCAM! The police cant do anything with them. This is just frustrating. Dont give them any information of anything!

I am a disabled woman and I keep getting harrassing calls from this number and others like it.  They keep threatning me, the gentleman's name is Mr. Johnson, but has a very heavy middle eastern accent.  What can be done to stop this?  If you get a call from them ignore it, I spoke to an attorney and this is all a hoaks.  One of the times I picked up the phone told them they were being recorded and that I had an attorney and they hung up.

Scam, keep getting from different numbers as I block the calls.  Scarey they have all my info including ss#.  Reported similar calls earlier this year to police, the officer called and he got hung up on and when called back number was disconnected already.  Shady.  Wish we could do something about these scammers.

Yep, my mom has been getting them like crazy!  The name used to us was Officer Harris.  I cussed him out a few times already, but they just keep calling.  My mom's lawyer called and he told her to kiss his a**.  How professional of him....
