Just a heads up from something I just read about on another site. You may want to pass this on:

I have been reading recently that there are data miners out there that have a program that "mine" phone numbers on websites and social networking sites, and uses them for illegal telemarketing calls. The program can only use phone numbers formatted in the period form (xxx.xxx.xxxx) because the hyphenated form (xxx-xxx-xxxx)gives out too much erroneous results. Mainly from confusion with zip+4 postal codes.

So if you receive many telemarketing calls that you did not authorize, take take a minute to reformat your phone numbers to a hyphenated form, and this should cut down on most of those calls. Do not use periods in your phone numbers.

just got call, left message said its a debt collector

Said they were a collection company called... Nesco?... something or another, I could not understand exactly what she said. She wasn't rude, per se, but she was dangerously close to being rude when I told her I was not going to agree to pay anything until I got all the information that they have so I could verify if the debt was mine or not. She kept trying to force me to agree to pay once I got the information, the only problem is I have no idea about any debt that she stated I owed. So, we will see whether or not I get anything.

281-385-8206 is a Collection Company 'Nasco'.  They kept calling my (minor) son's cell phone, looking for a Shayla Queen.  I called and explained that we don't know any suck person and that the number they were calling belonged to a minor, they apologized and promised to remove the number from their records.

I got this call on my answering machine tonight too. They said it was in reference to a certain phone number, and it was urgent that I call back. I didn't recognize the number she was calling about, but they did have my name. I'm not calling back, but it's a little creepy that they had my name.

I recieved several messages from nasco-281-385-8206. I usually never answer a number I dont know. I finally ans. and told the woman I was not home to leave a mess. she said her name was jessica and demanded i tell her who I was. I asked her what the call was about and what was the company about, she continued to ignore me and continue hollering at me demanding to know who she was leaving the mess. with. I told her she was calling my home so she should ans. my quest. first since I asked first. I guess that really made her mad and she went into a scream so I just hung up. I have never heard anyone so rude from a business before. Im gonna block that # from calling my phone and see how mad she can really get!!

They keep calling. When I answer, it is just a message saying they are a debt collector and to call them at the 281-385-8206.  We are not behind on any debt so not sure where they got our number from.  Gut feeling says some kind've scam.

I got a call from this number on my cell phone. I haven’t had this new number very long. I  called this number back and also spoke to with an overly rude and forceful woman named Jessica. She asked what my number was and I wouldn't tell her anything-she's the one who called me! She said the company was nesco or nasco or something and wouldn't tell me anything more-she kept demanding information from me and she raised her voice again and again to me, yelling,  so I hung up, and called back hoping to get someone else and figure out what was going on. Instead, I got this Jessica again, who was even more upset. I am also having this number blocked.

Four calls in a week, really? I am extremely tired of this guy leaving a message saying to "respond regaurding this matter" No name or where he's from. And what matter? If it was an emergency I would like to know then & there. Got fed up this morning when they called, I answered the hung up on them. What does he have to say that I haven't heard? If they happen to read this I would like to say, Leave me ALONE, lose my number or drop it down a deep well. I've got other things to care about.

Nasco appears to be a Collection Agency. They are very rude and demanding. They will call your house and ask you a million and one questions, but they refuse to answer any questions that you may have for them regarding the nature of their call. The only thing that they will tell you over and over is that they are a financial institution.

Got a call from a lady who did not want to disclose her name. She said she was calling from Nasco. I asked her what it was regarding but she stated that she couldn't disclose any information unless I indentified my self, so I said "ok" and hung up.

This number has called me dozens of times over more than three years looking for "Brenda" and "Jose" who apparently gave my cell phone number as their's.  Company name is Nasco but caller always refuses to give me a mailing address to file my Fair Debt Collection Practices Act complaint. (This refusal is itself a violation of the law.  They always state they are deleting my phone number from their file, but it is a lie.  It costs me money and airtime everytime I mistakenly answer their call.  I try to block it but apparently they have multiple outgoing lines.  They may be run out of Houston.  If they call me again, I will sue them.

I have been receiving calls from this number for months!  I never answer it and when they leave a message they always say that they're trying to collect a debt, which is funny because I have nothing outstanding.  After reading everyone else's experiencing the same thing, it makes me feel better.  I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what I forgot to do!

This number has been calling my 10 year olds cell phone for months but leaves no message.  I've tried to call but after a brief message that the next available agent will be right with me I'm dumped into a party line of people all bitching at each other thinking they are talking to an agent.  Any body have any thoughts on how to resolve this?

This number has been calling for probably a couple of years.  They leave a demanding message that I contact them by the end of the busineess day and that it is regarding "a business matter" quite tired of it and won't answer anymore.  Sometimes they will call 2 or 3 times a day and leave no message at all.

calls for  months now, starting to annoy me.

Called 5:33pm CDT.  Automated message stating it was important I call back regarding an outstanding debt.  Called back (at my expense) at 5:34.  Their system hung up on me.  Called back again at 5:53, got automatically put on hold, waited, got a person who stated they were looking for someone who clearly has not had this number for more than a year.  I told her so; she promised to remove my number from their list.

I get a phone call from this number one time daily saying their name is Larry Smith and they are a debt collector and leaves a phone number for me to call them back.  The call is always a recording not a real person.  I have been ignoring it but it is starting to become very annoying.  I have no debt so I know they have no reason to be contacting me.

I received this "Larry Smith call" also...in spite of the fact that I have a private # and no outstanding accounts. Apparently, they have an automatic dialer (illegal) or are using a bot to scan social networking sites, as mentioned above. This site confirmed my suspicions, and I will not answer/talk to these bottomfeeders.

this larry white person has been calling for about three months now  every day  and also "unknown" comes up several more times per day also. since i have an answering machine and i screen ALL of my calls they are wasting their time and effort. since i have no debts they have no reason to be calling in the first place. it is starting to get annoying though.anyone not leaving a message will not be called back.their time is wastede not mine.
