- mikerNo Caller ID. Left no message. Assume debt collector, or this time of year in this town, political call.
- GolferSACalled and pretended to be a non-profit organization benefitting the Texas DPS Troopers Association. Very testy when I told them I am a DPS Trooper and called [***] on their scheme, asked to speak with a supervisor... said they'd call back, seems unlikely.
- Caller: DPS Troopers Association
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- wendy| 1 replyYeah it said the Magic Jack customer is unavailable and then says voice mail is full
These calls are so phony it is pathetic - amaris| 1 replyWho is this calling me?? Called number back it said the magic customer is not ava. Mailbox full.
- Caller: UNKNOWN NAME
- EddieTheEagleGuy called. Was barely coherent. He claimed he was calling for some type of Texas State Trooper Association but I doubt he a Trooper or a law officer. From what I understand it is a boiler-room operation telemarketer working for this organization that is tax-Exempt but donations to such entity are not tax deductible. Who knows how much goes to pay for the telemarketers, who can barely speak, and their management and operations.
- Caller: Friendswood, TX

Now, fair warning, most of these numbers are disconnected within days of receiving the call, sometimes hours, but if you are lucky, the number will still be active and you can have quite a bit of fun. Did I mention it's FREE fun?
Here's the deal. I get calls like this ALL the [***] time. Short of changing your phone number (which actually is advisable) you cannot make them stop, so why not [***] with them a bit?
prankdial.com is free and they have some awesomely hilarious pranks, a soundboard, and your number does not show up on caller ID...you can actually change what number DOES show up!
BEST of all: you can record the call to ensure your prank is immortalized forever and thus, share the hilarity with others.
I really think this is the best way to get these guys, so prank it up fellow sufferers! - SunnylesSame as the others, MagicJack customer not available. Can't prank call if no one answers.

- No NameI received several calls from 281.993.6924 with no message: I traced originator to a Stacey L McCord
:3510 Elmwood Dr:Pearland, TX: This person is unknown to me. - FitzboySame B.S. as everyone else; "MAGIC JACK REP IS UNAVAILABLE...PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE....OH...THE MAILBOX IS FULL"...WHAT A CROCK!!! I'm on the Fed's no-call list but it doesn't seem to matter.....BTW...most knucklheads that read these blogs have neither the time nor the energy to sift through pages of leagle-ease (TOM).... keep it short and to the point! Tom,... We appreciate your boundless knowledge on the issue but would much prefer a watered-down version of your vast knowledge....
- G.E. ThompsonReceived a call from this number July 13th. He said he was representing the DPS. (State Troopers) I screened the call and dumped him. I told him we donate directly with the locals which is the only way we will donate anything.
We are also on the Do Not Call list which they all ignore.- Caller: 281-993-6924
- GranNanHave repeatedly informed this group calling "on behalf of" the Texas State Troopers Assoc. that I want my number removed from their lists. No luck of course.
- Caller: 281-993-6924

Well If I am home, and they call, I will play bill collector with them, record their call and post it on YouTube like it did with National Diabetes Association http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mlpf25i3YBo

- 281-993-6924A rather hostile man calls over and over and over asking for an employee who is not working that day. I asked the employee about this guy "Mike" who is so rude and he told me that he is trying to get money for some 'police' organization. Our employee told us that he already told the guy that he is not going to give him any money, but he continues to call and ask for him.
I believe this is a con man collecting money for a non-existant organization. Calls over and over.- Caller: Don';t have caller ID.
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Yellow RoseGuess they recently got out of the slammer or rehab. After looking at the dates on previous posts, I guess they are back in business. I recently tried to remove my phone number from the "Do Not Call" list, but the option isn't available. The penalties and enforcement are totally toothless. I base this assessment on about 300 complaints of filers that said it was a waste of time.
I'm convinced that every month, that Federal agency (FTC) sends out a very large database of valid numbers to telemarketers to not call. For the telemarketers, this is info that they couldn't figure out where to find or how much to pay for. Yet, our government gives that to them for nothing. Instead of the FTC, it may be the job of the FBI, or even worse, the IRS.- Call type: Telemarketer
