Got a call from this number . didnt answer . They left a message telling me I won a 2500 dollar ticket for a trip for me and 3 friends in beautiful Cancun.......I didnt bother to listen to the rest . Deleted message . No doubt I needed a credit card to take advantage of this deal ..... really ya think so ?

This is a fraud campaign currently active in Canada using a series of Iristel VOIP numbers.  The objective is to obtain your credit card number and drain your account.

If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.

If this call came from area code "202", would you say that "This is a fraud campaign currently active in Washington, DC"? No, you wouldn't. VOIP calls can come from anywhere in the world, Nigeria for example. It's been stated on this forum that caller ID is becoming obsolete. The caller ID of any phone, anywhere in the world, can be faked. What you mean is that you received a phone call from a foreign, or domestic criminal.
