I have got the same

I called them back from a different phone number.  They are a collections company called ARO, Inc. who stated they work for the government of Ontario.  The lady I spoke with was extremely snippy and wanted my number.  I told her I wasn't giving that information.  She asked if I wanted the calls to continue, and I told her I wanted to know the nature of the business.  Then she spelled out the name of the company.  When I again refused to tell her my phone number, she replied, "That's fine--we'll call your place of employment then."

They left no message

And they will. Just got a call at my place of employment.
They tried my cell phone once & left no message. Had to google it. How are we supposed to clear things up if they refuse to leave a message?

Called today, left no VM, Caller ID name shows "Confidential". This caller is ARO COLLECTIONS INC

They called today on my wife's cell phone and asked for me, when my wife asked who is calling the [***] said, is he there it is yes or no Question.  I got on the phone saying who the F*** is this and when she called my rude I called her a useless BLANK and I will continue to verbally abuse them as long as they call.

Yep, ARO collection.  Never heard of them but they chick on the phone said i owe money.
She asked how I am going to be paying and I told her that I'm unemployed and can't make payments.
She said "Okay, I'm going to put that you refuse to pay"

Calls very often  it say confidential.

Read enough now to say, dont deal with these people.  They just called my 12 year old daughters cell phone at nearly 2am.  They're friggen lucky I wasn't close enough to pick it up or they would have gotten an earful AND a nice police report.

This was a collection agency, said I had a bill with the Ministry of Finance (which is impossible) got me to verify my birthdate even though I really did not want to, and then wanted my address which I refused to give.  I said, tell me what you want and what this is about, or I will block this number.  They replied that I would just keep getting calls from them.

I just got a call on my cell that is unlisted...a rude woman demanded my private info. I asked what was this in regards, she said I can't discuss until you confirm your identity. I said sorry, I'm busy and she said "your status will continue with collection". Network providers need to be notified of this number and blocked. And what agency calls at 2am? (In re: called my 12 year old daughter at 2am.) Phone companies need to protect their clients.

I got a call from these number wanting my bank account information so I can start making payments..why should I give them that and stating how I'm getting extra money on my child tax credit in July

I just received a call from a collections agency who refused to tell me who they were, what the claim was for, etc. unless I gave them my date of birth and other personal information.  The only thing they told me is that the claim generated from the Attorney General.

When I tried to explain that this was the first call or communication of any kind about any type of collection, she proceeded to threaten me, told me the calls would just continue and basically told me she would harass me until she got what she wanted.

The number that called me is 1 289 789 1028.

you might want to return the call.it is collections on behalf of ministry of finance .it means you owe on govt taxes or something related to court fines.

I always get the same guy when I try to deal with these people. I'm paying them an amount monthly. Not a whole lot but I don't exactly make the big buck!

At least I'm trying my best to lower my debt. I only owe about $1500 now

When I tell they guy that's the best I can do for my payments as I have kids , bills , food, other priorities , I get told he will stop the payments , make it so I'm refusing to pay because they will no longer accept my money, and then when my account doesn't change they will put a lean on my house.....

The money hasng stopped coming out, I hadn't heard from the guy in several months.... But surprise surprise guess who is yet again I satisfied with my $40 a month payment .... They harrass people! Kick them when they are down!

These people just called my home and a guy answered and I called back and asked who they were they said ARO a collection agency. The funny part is I owe no one money and have no idea who these people are. The lady said we need a date of birth, address, or sin number. She claimed that my name was on the file. I said to her there are a lot of people with the same name and I seriously don't owe money to anyone. Is this a scam? She again said that I need to verify by birth date and I said okay, then she hung up on me. Left confused.

Just got a call from this number. Asked for me by name, I did not confirm. I said who is this and they said "a collection agency" I have no debts so I said what do you want and he asked to verify my name and date of birth, I said no and he said the calls will continue and hung up.

I've told them more than once that they have the wrong numer but they keep calling. Idiots.

Got a call from these [***], Told them it was illegal for them to harass me without first notifying me in writing as to what they think is a debt (I have none.) Am pretty sure there is a mistake but how do you clear it up with idiots like this? It seems like they have an ineffective system when they won't even tell you what this is regarding.
