This personn is scamming people on craigslist. He send this email and if you ask he gives this phone number.

Thanks for the swift response, just to tell you that am okay with the condition and price of the item, and am ready for its purchase and my form of payment will be by sending you Check with a 1st class mail delivery via ups which delivers next day.

I'll be responsible for the pick-up and the movers money will be included in your payment to avoid delay, and after the check cleared, you will get the rest funds available to the movers,to enable them schedule an appropriate time for the pick-up at your location as i have other properties to be moved. Would really love to come for the viewing but due to my work frame that might not be possible,

Please do get back to me with your full name and address including your cell and land number so i can make out payment.

    Regards!

Received this number and name of Richard Beks for a Craigslist scam.  He's trying to buy a $100 entertainment center and overnighted a check for $2450 and I am supposed to cash it and then give the difference to the movers when they come to pick it up.  The check is from Chase Bank in Kew Gardens NY and the company name is UltraRev, Inc of Brooklyn NY.  The UPS overnight envelope came from Allied Services & Contracting in Daytona Beach, FL

I am new using craigslist, but they do warn you about people like this and suggests selling to local people only. In my email from him, he lives in Rosemead, CA. He used the same email. With just a little research on google and yahoo, I found this sight that confirms my suspicion that he is a fraud. How can we put a stop to this?

don't do it.  I got the same thing, was waiting for the check to clear, the bank said it had and now I'm trying to come up with the $2200 I sent him.  My gut said don't do it, didn't listen.  I have filed a police report and fraud report with the bank and Moneygram.  Save yourself the time.

This guy is still active. I got the same message quoted above. The deal did not feel right, and felt less right each time I asked for his full name and address and got shunted off with an "I rely on trust" message. Thank you for confirming my hunch.

hahaha! man, you gotta love the internet! thanks to you guys and a few others like you, I've got a heads up on this d-bag.  seems like the guy would use a different name each time or something; I wouldn't have found any of this if I hadn't googled his name.  Thanks!

Same deal here. Sent me a check for $2500 for $800 of USED furniture. Stated to take an extra $50 for my troubles and wire the rest to his mover in FL. Check stated it was from an elementry school in Houston TX, signed Richard Beks. This guy is all over the place. Anybody have any luck filing a complaint?

I've just got contacted by Richard Beks, and he assured me not to listen to the people on the internet, and it's there just to hurt him......etc.
I've told him that I don't really care about what anyone else say.  But I go by the old saying "cash on the barrel" and that I'm willing to deliver it to him for free anywhere in the US.  or he can pay me by "paybal"
    still didn't hear nothing back........

No call, but this alias did send me a check after my roommate posted my couch on craigslist. DO NOT cash a check from "Richard Beks", if someone gives you a check for thousands over what you posted IT IS A SCAM. Use your head, if it seems too good to be true, IT IS.
