- Cheri| 1 replyThey claim to be the IRS. The IRS doesn't call you. They send you a letter in the mail. I have absolutely no issues with the IRS so this is a scam.
- Caller: Says they are the IRS
- DawnI have been repeatedly getting calls from this number for several days now--first person sounded middle eastern and name was officer john patrick, today got call from officer mike jones and he sounded asian. Really, do they think we are that stupid?

- Gina U| 3 repliesThe message stated it was from an officer John Parker(heavy accent) and informed if they don't hear from me or my attorney, legal situation may be enforced. He stated the number was a hotline to his tuition? WTF...I am going to report this to my local public utilities commission and possibly Federal Trade Commission.
I know better and feel this is a scam, but these people can easily scam our growing elderly population and should be reported. Please report these kinds of suspected scams to you local public utilities commission of the Federal Trade Commission to attempt to help stop these unscrupulous people. The more complaints they receive, the more attention these scammers will get from our regulatory agencies. - ANonieMouseThere's a good chance that this is a cowardly, foreign-based scammer using a magicJack device to mask his location as he hides out in some country with Internet access. See:
http://www.phonevalidator.com
In this case, it appears that he is an amateur scammer, as he doesn't seem to have settled yet on one that works for him.
Remember that a magicJack with at least six months of free calls into and out of the U.S. runs around the equivalent of $100.00 in India, so someone can score big money over there by simply scamming one person per month. And the governments in that area have shown little or no interest in helping ours find and arrest people over there for breaking our laws. - SKI just received a voicemail from this number - An Asian sounding man left me a very nasty message saying his name was John Parker and I needed to call him back immediately about an extremely urgent matter and if I don't, I should contact a lawyer - I only looked it up because I thought it was a creditor lol - So glad I looked it up first.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. - J.T.Today I received a phone call from a man with a heavy middle eastern accent and mangled English, basically threatening us legally. He said that his name was Officer John Parker, and that we or our attorney should return his call. He said that if we don't respond "this very second," all he could do would be to wish us luck. He ended his call with a very American style "Have a nice day." What a joke.
