Receive a telephone call from with caller-id of 301-882-9967. Caller/message stated that I had won a vacation to Las Vegas, San Francisco, or some other destination. I needed to press "1" to continue the call and to collect my prize. I'm not sure if it was a live caller or recorded message. Call was received on my cell phone.
As a legitimate telemarketer, I can tell you that telemarketing to cell phones without express permission is a violation of law. Using pre-recorded messages is a violation. Saying that you won a free prize is a third violation. These kinds of marketers who couldn't care less about compliance and consumer rights make it difficult for those of us who conduct legit. work. PLEASE report them. We want the criminals out of this business. Simply go to: https://www.donotcall.gov/ and click the button on the left labeled "File a Complaint". THANK YOU!
Theres no such thing as a legitimate telemarketer. Its not really even a legitimate form of marketing. In email its called spam, its like saying "Im a legitimate spammer". In the ideal world telemarketing is outlawed.
Received a call from this company just now stating that "I or a member of my family submitted a form online and it was chosen at random to win a trip."
Funny...the phone number they called is my work cell phone, and I don't even have a family that could've entered in the information.
I just received a call from this number as well. I thought cell phone were immediately part of the do-not-call list. Anyway, just in case, I've place my cell phone on the do-not-call list and will file a complaint as soon as I can. I don't like unsolicited calls!
On 12/12/07 I received a similar call to many others. It offered a vacation in Las Vegas or San Fransisco. It claimed they got my phone number from "an entry form that you or a family member filled out at one of our events last year". What a lie. I bought the iPhone and phone number last month. It was my first cell phone ever. I rarely use the phone for telephone calls, and I know for a fact that nobody I gave the number to, shared it. So I have to assume AT&T gave/sold my number to someone. Are there any other explanations?
I received a phone call and looked at the number did not recognized the number so I did not answer. I called the number back and listened to a recording that said I won a trip. I immediately hung up. I do not want solicted phone calls!!
I got a call way before I even knew about this webpage but just thought might as well submit my report. So they called my cell # and I picked up and nobody was there.
