A recorded message claiming to be David Greg from the Treasury department and wanting me to call 302-217-3720 in order to take care of a settlement issue, immediately.  Failure will result in my arrest and an appearance before a court or grand jury.  The message goes on to say it is the second attempt to contact me and failure to call him back to help me will cause them to take immediate action.  ........The message repeats 3 times and then hangs up.    This is obviously a scam (and from what I hear on the news), a very successful one.  Many folks have been calling them back and transferring money.  I have been getting these calls off and on for a few months and from different phone numbers.  Thought I should start to share.

Received the same message as others. As a former Federal Agent, they have made a big mistake. They have been reported. It's amazing in todays day and age that people are not following up and researching suspicious telephone calls and sending payments to these desperados!!!!!!!

Thank you John for sharing. I just got one of these calls. I did call back and they answer "United States Treasury" I told them I knew they were a scam and that I was reporting them. Also told them how shameful it was that they are trying to pull this bs! I am SO angry that they have gotten away with frightening people in that way and stealing from them to boot.

Same as all the others, call them back or they'll take action.  Amazing, we can get pictures sent back to Earth from Pluto, but we can't stop these annoying calls.

Same recorded call from a Treasury Dept "official" as the rest of you.  Obviously, English not callers first language.  Threatening arrest and legal action.  Similar to ones I have gotten from the "IRS" earlier this year.

I received this call as well. Person with an Indian accent. I called them back to see what it was. He gave me a case number and details about a letters they had sent regarding past due taxes from 2012. As I listened he became more threatening and said he was sending the police to arrest me! I told him I believed it to be a scam and hung up on him. Still, this was a scary thing to have happen! I hope this number can be shut down!

Have received this message on my answering machine several times. Very annoying, glad to know this is a scam, never called them back. I figured once I responded they would continue to call and threaten.

Same as all others listed above.  Five calls from this number today.  Man with Indian accent claims if I don't call back I will have to appear before a Magistrate (seriously, dude?) or Grand Jury (okay, dude).  Laughable, if it wasn't so idiotic an annoying.

I actually called back several times and asked the variety of individuals who answered very carefully if they claimed to be "revenue officers for the United States Treasury."  When they responded "yes," I reminded them of this provision of federal law:  "Whoever falsely assumes or pretends to be an officer or employee acting under the authority of the United States or any department, agency or officer thereof, and acts as such, or in such pretended character demands or obtains any money, paper, document, or thing of value, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both."  18 U.S.C. Sec. 912.  After about 5 times, they apparently blocked my number as an incoming call.

My older neighbor came over hysterical that she was going to jail.  It was the IRS saying they had a warrant for her arrest.  They had left a message and she returned the call.  She had her phone clutched to her chest and when I asked to speak, the caller said he could only speak to my neighbor.  He had an accent and I told him that 'I' was calling the police and reporting him so to keep on talking.  He asked to speak to my neighbor again and I told him to never ever call that number again or the warrant he claimed to be signing would be issued for him.  I hung up on him and there have been no other calls to her since.  This is more than just a nuisance call.  I'm furious.
