She got very rude and claimed that it was just to inform me they'd see me in court. I laughed at her. They had all of my personal info which out scary. Red flag was she would NOT give me info about the account and hung up on me. Called back to get their companies info and my account and she hung up on me again. Scam.

The guy that called me was James Howard and he also stated I needed to call them back before a sherrif came and served me. - New MexicoWe received a recorded message regarding pending litigation--"you will be served with court proceedings at your place of employment" etc--and instructions to "press 9" to speak with an agent, who had my partner's name, last four digits of SS, and correct date of birth. The "agent" said they were "Process Mediation" and had bought an old debt (that was settled in 1998!) from Fleet Bank. I told him he would have to send me the information in writing, and he 'hung up' on me. I immediately did a reverse lookup on the number and have blocked it from my phone.

- rox barrett| 2 repliesHi
This number 302 295 3731 called me and said i have a lawsuit pending and they will send a police to arrest me- Call type: Debt collector
- Slim replies to rox barrettLegitimate process servers do not call to warn you, or to get money from you to stop the process. They will deliver the notification without warning.
Also, if you were threatened with an "arrest warrant" via a phone call or email, read this:
http://news.uscourts.gov/warning-arrest-warrant-scam
"The warrant is phony. A valid warrant would not be served by fax or e-mail. It would be served in person by a U.S. Marshal or other law enforcement officer."
"Anyone receiving a fake arrest warrant should contact the FBI or the district U.S. Marshals Office. If there is any question regarding the authenticity of a warrant, contact your district clerk of court." - b71 replies to rox barrettthey just called me and hung up, I call back and get hung up on again
- Lori replies to MarylandThat's the same kind of message I have gotten for the past 2 days on my cell phone. The number it came from was 302-295-3731. SCAMMERS!!!
"This is James Howard with Process Mediations. Reference this number when calling back ####-######. Please dial 888-412-6738. We need to hear from you or your attorney today. If we do not, we will assume you waive that right and will process a complaint under your name in your county's court house."
Do not even bother calling them back, but file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission via their web site and your state's attorney. Maybe if we flood the daylights out of these offices, someone may do something eventually. I hope! - Cali2| 1 replyI have received 2 calls in two days. Voicemail states the same as above.
- Call type: Debt collector
