- chrisLady said they were a mediation company trying to get my statement and get a settlement on $1200.00 on a supposed 2009 loan that i took and didnt pay. Amazing that she couldnt tell me who the loan was from.
- Caller: (something) mediation
- Call type: Debt collector
- Melissa| 2 repliesThey called to tell me I was in mediation with a company called Twin Bluffs and was asking for my statement and wanted to make a settlement. She knew my bank account from 8 years ago that I haven't had since 2006 as well as last 4 digits of my social security number and my address from 8 years ago as well. She refused to mail me anything and said they only use email and when I mentioned my lawyer stated legally they have to mail you something she refused and hung up on me.
- YRP| 2 repliesThey claim to be a company called Retrieval Mediation. Mr. Johnson stated they were sending a process server to my house. Had my address. This is getting out of control!
- Caller: Retrieval Mediation
- Call type: Debt collector
- Abby| 1 replyThey also called me and stated I had unpaid loan from 2008 and wanted to get a statement. Said I would be served with a civil suit soon. Told them I didn't remember the loan and would get a lawyer to look more into the possible loan.
- MJG replies to AbbyREAL process servers do NOT call before arriving.
Demand WRITTEN proof of the ""debt"" that is MAILED to you. Expect excuses & illegal threats. Phone calls, emails & texts are NOT an official notification of debt per the FDCPA! - LauraCalled and said I had an unpaid loan from 2008 , scam
- Call type: Debt collector
- BJ - FloridaKeep getting these call as well from different telephone numbers. They say the same about old pay day loan not paid but won't provide any information on their company or the debt They have even tried to call my previous employer and also the owner of the business cell phone and give us the case number trying to get information on how to locate me as I continue to not answer their calls anymore and or block their telephone numbers. I have reported them to the State of Florida Attorney Generals Office and they are trying to stop these scam callers. Again, if they won't provide information on their company by law and the debt, and if they use any kind of scare tactics to get you to give them what they want don't answer the phone or call them back. If they were ligetimate they would file the civil suit, have you served papers and be done with it. They are scum.

- Elspeth replies to JewelsReal process servers do not call ahead of time - only scammers do.
- CWG40 replies to Melissa| 1 replyThis is most likely a debt collection scam. Ignore these people and block their calls.

- JOthe Retrieval Mediation was a robo call and they have called my home, cell and now to my job. It is always a machine how do I stop them?
- ShellI tried to get information, but he was very evasive. Todd Johnson is who he said he was. Much of the conversation was him telling me that he didn't want money from me, that he was the mediation company that was trying to keep me out of court. He rattled off an old email address that had long been closed, but he did have my social security number and said that the debts were all attached to it. When I asked him for the original company's name, he named off like 4 companies that I have never heard of. I made the guy so mad with my questions, and when I told him that he needed to send me verification in the mail, he told me, "I wouldn't send something to your dog!" It was after this charming declaration that I informed him that the jig is up, and it's already all over the internet that he's running a phantom debt scam. Further, if he were a real 'mediation company' he wouldn't be talking to me this way. He became very offended and started telling me that he was going to call Sheriff Johnson (whoever that is) and that I could just go to jail then. He said I was stealing money. I couldn't help it. I busted out laughing. He was so mad. He said crazy stuff about how he didn't work for me and other such nonsense. He said he was offended that I claimed his company was fake. To this I said, "Oh, then you won't mind if I call the FTC and the Attorney General's office for confirmation?" He hung up.
