Always want to lower my credit card rates too. Several problems with this: 1. I will never give any personal information to anyone that calls me out of the blue. Caller ID shows V111814503800313, I will assume that's VOIP, voice over internet provider. 2. Yes, final notice for over a year now. 3. And most important; I DONT HAVE A CREDIT CARD!

Now the main question is, why the h isn't the FTC doing something about these ppl. I have given up reporting numbers to them because nothing is being done. I get more call now than I did before signing up on the Do Not Call list.

I received a voicemail message from an automated woman's voice telling me that this was my final notice as it pertains to the government's financial stimulus.  It is a scam!

I have been getting a "final notice" from this scam for about a decade.
    FYI:
    1) The FTC has already shut down this type of scam several times.
    2) most of the numbers are spoofed and if people complain on these websites and do not call and report the number(s) to the FTC there is not a hell of a lot they can do about it.
    3) the DO not call registry cannot block these scammers from calling people using robocalling devices or software
    4) all of us (including me) should be pressuring Congress to pass the bill that would force Verizon, Comcast, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and every other phone company to use technology to block robocalls

I use the same policy and don't have a card.  EVERYONE NOTICE the second paragraph.  Again, these calls are not a priority with the government; they have bigger fish to fry.  NOTICE AGAIN that RJA reports what most of us do, and my experience:  "I get more call now than I did before signing up on the Do Not Call list".  I still say signing up on those lists and/or pressing whatever to "be removed" from their lists puts people on a priority call list. You confirm that your number is live and in use by the simple act of answering.  To these predators, that's just fresh kill!  They probably hack and/or buy and/or have an insider deliver them the Do Not Call list.  And, thanks for the VOIP heads-up.  I always wondered about that V11 business.  Again my best advice is, get a call blocking device.  I have a 2 phone cordless VTech set from Wal-Mart that lets me block up to 20 calls (though they still ring once).  It's about $30 well spent.

Why would a scammer use the Do Not Call list when they can get far more useful information from marketing people? People fill out contest entries, they subscribe to magazines, they borrow money from loan sharks, etc. That information is more easily gotten than the Do Not Call list.
