I got a call from this number today, 1/30/2012.  It was a person claiming to be from Yellow Pages, saying we owe $599.95 for a "2 for 1 term" that someone w/ the company signed up for in Jan 2010.

The web address I got was yellowpagesonline.net, which the real Yellow Pages seems to be a .com.

(also got another apparent scam call earlier from 302-861-8989, which was a pre-recorded message in Spanish)

This no. called my cell. Did not recognize the no. They did not leave a message.

This woman Sharon tried to get me to pay as well gave me an old address and attitude. Said she would transfer me to corporate office. I said ok do it because I didn't sign up for this, she well you would have back in 2010. I didn't live at that the address in 2010...beep...she hung up on me. Tried to call the number back disconnected.

Wanted me to pay for my two years of online yellow pages listing - which started back in 2010.  Never did that and paying for it won't happen!!  Offered me a one year for the two.  Not gonna happen.  Told her so & told her not to call again.

I just turned the number in to the do not call gov site.  Does that ever really help?

They called my business claiming they wanted to update my Yellowpageonline listing.  I initially thought they were with a company I did actually have an online yellowpage ad with.  Told him I wanted to cancel - claims I owe $599 because first year was free.  That's when I knew it was a scam.  You'd never get a year free upfront from ANY advertiser.    He hung up when I started to question him.  When I tried to call the number it was an invalid number.

yellowpagesonline.net calls every week (usually someone with a heavy accent) who is pushy and rude telling us we signed up for one year free and the next year at $500 ... We NEVER do any paid online advertising I tell them and then the rude arguing starts until I hang up-SCAMMING pieces of crap-

This number called twice today told me the same you owe for last 2 years $599. I told her I know we never authorized anything like this and wouldn't be paying. She then told me she would be passing my info onto corporate which I implored her to do so. I then googled the number after trying to call back to get "corporate's" phone number which just went to a busy tone. Glad I found this website! Oh and she also had an Indian accent not that automatically makes her a scammer but puts another nail in the coffin for me!!

I told the caller, since I did not give permission to list my company in the first place, that they owe me $10 for everyday my company was listed in their directory. They would not have a listing, had they not put me and other companies in their directory without permission, thus having my company listed in their directory was a service I provided them and they owe me money for that service. I asked for a billing address so I could send a 2 year bill for $10/day or $7300. They would not provide me an address and the caller hung up, saying they would refer this to their home office.

Called my cellphone today, 11:25am CST
No message left,... I didn't answer the call

same deal calling for 2 yrs now I just have fun with them if they talk sometimes its just dead air mostly indian accent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not want people calling - scams, etc... please take my name off mailing list and telling me I owe something I don't.  People need to get real jobs instead of stealing other people's money like this.

Same as previously reported. Yellow Pages online. Calling to update free listing or cancel. Told her to cancel. Said we owed $599 for 2 year program supposedly signed up for in 2010. Told her we don't ever do any online, yellow page or print advertising and would not have authorized that. She said someone from corporate office would contact me to confirm who signed up in 2010. I said OK...what is your name...she said Hailey Williams...how can I get back in touch with your company...she said 1-866-679-9976...googled # no info...asked where corporate located.... she said Delaware.
Definitely a scam...don't expect to hear from corporate office.

I am fed up with these phone calls, they have been calling my business for
two years for the same scam. Why can't anyone do something about this.

well I have another type of call from the same phone number, but in my case it is dead silent, nothing .
it has now been 3 calls, all the same, nobody.  today at 9am  Feb 21,  twice on Feb 20  6am  and 8am
Maybe they are just testing to see what the name is that answeres so they get it right?? who knows, but maybe they will come and collect when they say I owe them, I really love scammers, but they never show up, only big mouth on the phone and no follow up.-. Gee I wish they would come over and knock on my door in person,,

A guy called from this number saying he wanted to speak with me about an online Yellow Page listing promotional account I had signed up for. I said there is no way I ever signed up for this. He said that he would have the company call me back about this and hung up very quickly. I smell a scam (not hard to do these days) and will ignore this number forever.

same as others.  complete scam..  if i had an acct # with them then why couldnt they find it.  crooks need to be in jail

I got the same deal today at HOME!!!  she tried to make it seem like she was calling about my internet listing with THE YELLOW PAGES - as in AT&T - we got past that, I kept asking her why she was calling me at home and not my office, she said this is the number you gave us - I said I would NEVER have used my home number - I have an OFFICE - told her to call me there, TEN times I had to tell her, she just kept saying my contract was going to get cancelled - VERY rude and then told me I was rude because I would not talk to her - I said BECAUSE I DO NOT DO BUSINESS FROM MY HOUSE - I DO SO FROM MY OFFICE.
Well I guess she didn't want to admit that she did not have my office number - so I gave it to her, she called when I had a client, tried to talk to her and tell her I never signed up or signed anything, she said I owed her for the 2nd of the two years, buy one get one free - NO WAY did I sign up for anything.
First I am a stockbroker - ALL 100% of my advertising has to be approved by my broker dealer, bus. cards - everything - so there is no way - told her I was with a client and hung up - my god she kept calling back I finally answered and said I AM WITH A CLIENT what is your number I will call you back, she kept saying she was always on the phone and I would never get thru and she will call me again.
And I am sure she will - how do we stop these people, who do we report them to?  I am NOT paying them 599 bucks for something I did not authorize - my big fear is can this show up on our credit reports if we do not pay????  I want to see my signature or hear a recording of me agreeing to this, but I know I did not and I sure as hell did not give my home phone number out as a contact.

Oh and the person who called me "Sarah" was from this phone number 941-932-4045 - so who knows where they are all calling from that is usually a north Fl. area code.
