We have had the same issue with this number calling our house....5 times yesterday, (12/2/2003) and 7 times today so far.
I answered all but one time yesterday and when my husband answered, they asked to speak to him by name.  When my husband said this is he, the caller on the other end acted as if there was a bad connection....He kept saying hello?  hello?
When you try to call this number back you will get the "you have reached a number that is no longer in service" message!  If it is no longer in service, how can they call??????

I have received calls from this number (Freeman Randall - 302-747-7777) as follows:
    Dec 2, 2010 - 1 call
    Dec 3, 2010 - 4 calls
    Dec 4, 2010 - 1 call (so far, it's only 9:30am)
They say that they are from the American Diabetes Association and are asking if I have diabetes.  I'm pretty sure that they are not who they say they are.  Called the number back and it says that it has been disconnected.

Funny thing is, that in the week before, I was getting identical calls from the same people via a different number:  360-742-1886 (which is a Washington State number, not a Delaware number).  Some days I was getting 7 or 8 calls.

My theory is that these people are calling from overseas via the internet and routing their calls through a hijacked number in the US wherever they can find one (until that number is disabled).   My guess is that they will eventually gain your trust and get a credit card number from you for a donation, and they'll want to take that number over the phone instead of sending you a donation form in the mail.  I would not talk to these folks under any circumstances.  The next time I get a call, I will inform them that the FTC is tracking this call as well as recording it.

My call did not reveal a name, but it did state Dover, DE.

Fortunately I have a telephone whereby I can just click a button and future calls are 'blocked'.  After they try to call several times and realize that the call is blocked, they stop.

Finally was able to talk to someone when they called today.    This was the 4th call today.  It was a woman and she asked to speak to my husband, by name.  I told her that we have received several calls from this number and we would like to be put on the no call list.  She snickered and said, ma'am, I have dialed your number once.  I told her that we have been getting as many as 10 - 15 calls a day.  I then put my husband on the line and she tld him she wanted to talk to him about glucose information for diabetics.   He asked her to remove us from her list, and she hung up.

Received three calls from 302-747-7777 today.  No message was left when I didn't answer and nobody responded when I did.  The number is now blocked as these calls are unwanted and a nuisance.  The name on the call is Randall Freeman.

This has been happening to me all day. The times are as follows: 10:26 am,11:38 am, 12:54 pm, 1:54 pm., 2:18 pm, 3:10 pm, 3:54 pm, 4:23 pm, and just a few minutes ago, 4:53pm. When I pick up and say "hello", they hang up. When I call back it says that the number is no longer in service. I called the phone company and they said that it is a computer-generated call that blocks you from calling them back. Oddly enough, my husband has diabetes - so according to some of the posters *lucky* enough to get a courteous response (after all, they *are* calling *you*), this sounds like a scheme to bilk people out of personal info and/or money. As soon as I get off of here, I'm reporting it to the police department, as well. The AT&T operator suggested that I call the annoyance call bureau Monday. The number she gave me is 1-800-348-8727. Everyone tick-a-lock and don't tell them *anything* personal, not even your name! I smell a rat.

Excessive numerous calls within the same day leaving no message.  Once I answered as "Sherriff's Office.  How may I direct your call?"  but there was no one there I think.  I believe they make multiple calls, put them on hold, and then return to them one at a time to see if they have a live wire.  I don't think they even heard me.

My mom answered the phone today from Freeman Randall  at 4:54 pm and got the woman with the thick accent.  Mom told me  that she was asking about Diabetes, what kind of insurance she was on, etc. etc.  No matter how many times I have told her not to tell people her business, mom answered all their questions and said that they told her "something" that would happen in 48 hours. She said the woman had such a thick accent she couldn't understand her and had to keep asking to repeat herself.  I called the number, and it's disconnected.  So I guess we'll see, since she told them everything she knows. I preach that she shouldn't ever answer anything if she hasn't called first.  Oh well.  If anything happens in 48 hours I will let ya know.
