I was told I was talking to Rela from Peak Communications in Orange County, California, I.D. #5139
S/he said s/he was calling from AT&T and wanted to lower my phone bill; that Peak was AT&T's new long distance carrier. Hello? Ma Bell? I don't think so. S/he gave me his/her I.D. # (above) and stated her direct line was 8778517325. S/he asked if my address was correct and I said no, and then s/he hung up. The address she gave was half right/half wrong so that's what tipped me off.

I get a call from this number, several times a week, almost always between 1:45pm and 2pm. It rings about 4 or 5 times, and by the time I get to the phone no one is there. If you call it back, you reach information about how to register your number with the National Do Not Call list. Funny, I've already done that, years ago, and I still get calls from these people.

They called me again today. Same as usual, it was between 1:45 pm and 2pm. This time I got a live person, after waiting for a minute or two. It's pretty obvious that they're using an autodialer and it connects you to a human, if you answer on the first couple of rings. Same thing as others have said, claiming to be AT&T offering me a lower rate. The disturbing thing about this time was that the male person who I talked to new my first name, at least. The female person who called in between my first note and this one wasn't very nice. She told me I was too old and too ugly to sell anything to and hung up in my ear

I am getting these calls too. One time I actually spoke to a male that said that i had qualified for lower phone bills because I did not make enough long distance calls. That sounded very suspicious to me since I call my home country in Europe every day and speak for at least 1 hour each day. I asked what my average monthly bill was since I thought it was weird. He said he did not have that information. He wanted me to speak with a third party to switch over to the other carrier to get the lower monthly rates. I asked me where the hook is and he said there is no hook. I never spoke to the other party, I told him no but they keep calling every day.

So I get at least 1 call everyday. No one ever answers when I pick up. I'm on the do not call list. I even called and left complaints with the do not call people. But I am still getting calls. I even get calls after 10pm. How can I get them to stop? I can't get ahold of a company that leaves no contact information.

Appears to be a scam with caller some information about your phone account when they call.

Two calls from this number today.  Woman asked if I was (my wife's name) and I replied I was her husband, caller stated they were AT&T wanting to lower my phone rate due to low call volume.  There was unprofessional chatter in the background and woman had a voice that sounded like she had used way too much meth or other drugs.  She then started asking for information about me and said she would need to transfer me to a recorded independent 3rd party for additional verification.  I hung up without giving any information.  This appears to be a phishing scam to obtain additional personal information.  The unnerving part part is they had my wife correct name and we do have AT&T for local and long distance.  I told them I would call AT&T direct and ask for the discount (which I'm sure does not exist, since when does a big company call you asking if its OK for you to give them less money).

I also received a call from this number with the same information....calling from AT&T....I was eligible for lower phone bill...it was when she said all Long Distance would go thru Peak Communication....at that point I asked who she was calling from - oh Peak Communication......and what would the charge be for Long Distance...$5.95/mo.

At that point I told her NO - DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES.....so she hung up on me.

I guess they called my home and my Husband answered, and fell for it now I have this 6 dollar charge on my bill that I already cancelled but is still there. They do lie and say it changes your bill to a low amount but it really just adds there amount to what your already paying then you have to pay a set amount per minute used for long distance. Not only that but they still call constantly and there's never anyone on the line and when I called to cancel it they said you have to subscribe to a different long distance plan or you will still get charged, which I had already done. I think I am just gonna get my land line turned off, telemarketers are the only ones who call it anyway, it's so annoying I want to brake my phone!

The carrier company for this number is "ATX Telecommunications Services". They have been fined multiple times by the FCC (Google the name). The phone number is out of Dover, Deleware, but the company is in Pennsylvania. Their address is:

Call from this line - I did answer - but I have had 3 or so calls from this line in the past 30 days

I got a call from this number. The man asked for the verizon home phone number owner. When asked what company he was calling from he would not answer. It was not verizon calling, their people always identify themselves as calling from verizon.

Scammmm.  Peak Communications.  I have FIOS so they are unable to do any transfers.  I hate when they say they are working with Verizon.  I'm too busy to deal with these idiots.  Always hang up on them!!!

I just started getting calls from these people asking for my wife's name. When I the woman I spoke to asked me if I knew the account details I said, "no, my wife takes care of the bilss". Then she says something like oh so you can't verify your information at the end of this call. Right then I knew it was a scam because they always verify your information first before discussing changes to your account. Also, like others have said, when they called they said they were verizon and if I pick up too soon there is no one on the line.

whoever has this number is calling me every single day , says nothing when i respond, leaves no message, then hangs up . its extremely annoying and verging on harassment!

Yep got some lady asking for my husband. I told her im his wife how can i help you? Then asked when he was going to be available? I told her to call back in 3 years and i will let her know if he was granted parole. Hahaha! She was completely silent on the other end of the phone and then hung up!!! Figured might as well have fun with it!

get calls from this number FREQUENTLY...only its either dead silence or breathing....NO THANK YOU!!

They call Every single day Just after 2 pm. I have to answer the phone before the third ring because the machine picks up on the third. I hear silence, then a transfer click, more silence, and then the disconnect and buzz of a bad call. EVERY SINGLE DAY. if the machine picks up No message. If I call back It is either busy or tells me the do not call registry number.
