This person called me 3 times in 2 minutes and hungup every time after i answered within 5-10 seconds

Alliance Data Systems is on a autodial. A phone system that calls for the collector, makes the debtor wait and wait until the call transfers to the collector. After that, they do their speach than try to collect on what you owe in such a short time. You have the right to write a letter and tell them not to call you at such and such number.

This is the credit company for Victoria's Secret. Super nice and professional, they really helped out with getting account current.

Think you just got scammed

I received a call from this number on my cell phone and it went to VM and they left a message. Given the info here and what I also found for the number she asked to be called,
                                                                    THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM.  
DO NOT DO ANYTHING THEY ASK OR EVEN TALK TO THEM.

Of course since I missed the call I didn't talk to them, but I would not have anyway since only a number came up and I never give out my cell number to anyone. And I did not call the number back.

The gist of the message was:
"Hi, I'm calling ******* ******* (some completely unintelligible name) this is Brittany, your (some sort of $%&* rep)  at Community Bank and would like you to call me back at 877-697-6465 x-1246121"

Given all the different company names and stories people have been given I would say everyone should avoid talking to anyone about anything. Appears to trying to scam people. If this was a legit company, even a legit debt collection company, the number and company names should be consistent. What I see people entering about these 2 numbers is anything BUT consistent.

It's Comenity Bank and it is for Victoria's Secret.

I got a call on my business line and I do not have any outstanding credit cards....This is a scam..

Comenity Bank - GameStop Credit Card. I forgot to pay my bill last month and they were just following up. It's legit! She didn't ask for any money over the phone. I went on my GameStop App and payed it through there and she was fine with it. She even saw my payment on her computer. THIS IS NOT A SCAM!! Comenity is the bank used for 100's of retail credit cards, and also a few others that aren't retail stores. If you own a credit card from any of the following stores, this is why they're calling you...

This Is Not A Scam: This was Comenity Bank calling me. They run store credit cards for a lot of different stores, such as Victoria's Secret and GameStop (there is another great post in this thread that has a list of a lot of different stores they issue cards for). I have an account with them through GameStop, and they were simply calling to remind me that I was several weeks late on my payment due date.

Posts going back to 2010 suggesting some scammy actions.  Then you and a few others show up with with a plug for that number?
And why would you be on this site if you knew the number belonged to Alliance Data, who you believe is legit?  I think the number just might belong to Alliance, but you and others do remind me of Pay Your Bills Shills.

Yes, because people always look up stuff when they know all about it, like in your case, you knew who called, you knew what it was about, yet you looked up the number anyway.  Why?  Not that I expect an answer because you are no doubt another post and run shill.

Continual 'you must call back' to Comenity or something. Multiple numbers over multiple days and months. I have no credit cards run through commenity bank.
