Got another one of those "customer issue, credit union west service frozen. please call..." text messages. Same SCAM new number. NOBODY call or respond to this text. TOTAL SCAM!

What is the scam exactly?  I received the same text as Suki at 50 mins ago.  I called back using a different line (phone #) and started the number with *67.  The recording said it was a messaging service for AOL text/email/voice mail, that I had a message waiting for me, and to enter the number dialing from.  I then hung up.  I looked up the number on Google, and it is a land line issued to FRONT RANGE LUXURY RV PARK INFORMATION, GREENWOOD VILLAGE, COLORADO.  PROVIDER = ICG TELECOM GROUP - CO.

I have received about 3 of these texts.  When I called the number from the phone I received the message from.  It said it was a credit union and I was to enter my 16 digit card number then press pound.  I waited and it repeated the same message.  I pressed pound without entering a number and got the same message again about entering the 16 digit number.  It also said that the call would be monitored for quality improvement.  After listening and not entering anything for a few minutes, I hung up.

I have 4 phones w/Sprint & all of us get these every now and again.  Ranging from the account is frozen to other misc bull.

Been going on for months.

It has to be a scam to get you 16 digit credit card number.  This is the third time I have recieved a text from them.  They change the number every time.

I got this Bs text message and called got the same msg everyone else is getting just entered random numbers and the message keeps repeating.. I got the exact same msg the other day except they had a different number listed. The txt msg said SCAM all ocer it.

Yep - me too. From "9099". Didn't bother to respond, I know only one person in CO (303 is CO) and she wouldn't leave this type of message.

I have several lines that get this stupid text message.  Luckily most of my lines have free text messages.  Unfortunately, not all of them do, so this costs.  

A phone number is registered to someone, and I plan on pressing charges.  

Small claims court = $15 bucks to file, and I can bring my work with me on a laptop.
Fraud and slammed charges on a legitimate bill = up to the judge.  :)

Keep it up.  The more I can establish a pattern, the easier it is to convince the judge that this is harassment.  I can't wait to play him the message that is played when I call...

just got it too. Sent them a text back saying I am notifying the proper authorities. Thanks everyone and good luck.

My daughter and I get the same calls from the same "freaks" at the number in red above.  We have gotten these calls all on our cell phones.  So Sprint must be selling cell phone numbers.

I got a text message from that phone number. Also my mom and my dad got the same text. I called the number and it asked for a 16 digit account number. Please do not fall for this scam. You should not ever get this type of information via a text message. One needs to contact their credit card number on the back of their credit card if they have concerns. I do not believe that sprint is selling phone numbers, but it appears that someone has just started sending text messages. The text message stated "customer issue, credit union west service frozen. please call at 303 325 7300"

Seems like Sprint is giving out our phone numbers...I have Sprint and have gotten the same message.

if they sell phone numbers dont they have to be legitamet companies or they can sell to any joe shmo?

I just got the same txt message. This is not the first time.  Most of the time there is no caller ID, it is blank but the message gives a number to call.  I have never been any credit union customer.  I don't think sprint is selling our number but someone who works for sprint more so doing it without sprints knowledge.  Desperation brings out the worst in people.  Either way it's a scam.  Sad when you can no longer keep telemarketers/scams from reaching you on your cell phone.

My daughter and I received this as well.  I also have sprint and have reported it.  I received an e-mail same info.  I have AOL wonder if they are related.

I have Sprint..........and got the same messages......Sprint will get a call from me tomorrow...........they need to protect our information....or I am cancelling !!!!
