Received a call from this number today and they left a voicemail:

My name is Julie Hyman calling from the Legal Mediation Firm. This is our final attempt to contact you regarding an open case we have here involving your name and as well as your social

This is an urgent phone call and your last opportunity to resolve this matter voluntarily without action being taken place against you. Please give me a call immediately at 303.565.5762

This appeared to be an obvious payday loan scam. I called back and allowed them to go through their script. They threatened me by saying that i was facing two felony charged for fraud and malicious intent to defraud a financial institution. When questioned, they had little information other than what is on their "affidavit" and that they were representing a client "Equity Funding."  After allowing them to finish, i asked them what I could do to remedy the situation.

At that point, they said there may be nothing but that they would contact their client to see if they would allow me to resolve the issue today and prevent charges from being filed. After an acceptable amount of time waiting, they asked me whether I wanted them to transfer me to their "client" to make payment arrangements, or if i wanted them to file their report. I told them that I wanted their "client" to send me verification of the debt via mail to which they agreed, but added that it was unlikely it would reach me before charges were filed. They added that f this goes to court, that the burden of evidence will be on me to defend myself.

Not able to hold myself back any longer I had to correct them. If there was a legitimate debt, their "client" could go about legal process to collect on the debt, but that I also had a right to demand proof of the debt in writing. I also pointed out that in a criminal trial, the burden of proof is on the prosecution and not the defendant.

In the end I informed them that I had received several such calls from different numbers, but always with the same script and talking points. I asked that they not call me again, and they hung up before I could let them know that I was, once again, filing a complaint with the Attorney General of Colorado.

I got the same call with the EXACT same verbiage about 5 minutes ago.  I too will be filing a complaint.  This is not the first time I've had to file a complaint.  The last time some company like this started calling me, they called my boss, my payroll dept, my neighbors...  I filed a complaint and the Atty. General's office called this company and they hung up in the representative's face.  It was later found that this company had no license to do business or collect anything in my state.   So don't give up, file the complaint.  For my state the forms are right on-line and you can print them out or fill them out right on your computer.  Easy!

I have received several calls from this number. Today's call was threatening legal action. I know this is fake because creditors with your social security number will also know your name. These folks say that there's an important legal matter involving my phone number and my SSN. I want to report these harassing calls.

Same speech, same script, either male or femal caller.  They use 12 different numbers and call on my cell phone.  Claiming the tel # is associated with a felony fraud.  They never know your name but ask for your social security number and credit card numbers with the security code.  Threatening felony prosecution, but again never knowing your name but calling a burner cell phone number.
They have been calling now for 2 months straight, day and night several times a day.
They do not know who they are calling.

Its time they are locked up or move on since no one is fallign for this crap.
If the calls are placed on my cells block list and not ringing through they try a # that is not blocked, thats how I have 12 different numbers that they have called from.
Contact the Atty Generals Office in Colorado.  The companies name is listed in the detailed post by another person annoyed with the calls.

I just received the exact same call with the exact same prerecorded voice mail. I have been receiving a lot of these scam payday collection calls for the past month, all from different numbers saying legal mediation, blah blah. I'm so over it - give up already! i kind of figured it was a scam i asked to be mailed something they said they needed the money by today.

I just received my first call from this number. However, this isn't the first time I have received a phone call about this.

I received my first call on 4/7/15 from (786) 369-1661. They called twice from this number and then switched numbers.
I received two calls on 4/8/15 from (305) 509-6477.
I received two calls on 4/13/15 from (720) 943-3040. This was when they first used a Colorado area code.

The calls stopped for a while and I thought they were going to just give up on me. Finally.

On 5/4, I received a call from a "Michael Thompson" using the phone number (720) 961-4499.
On 5/7, I received a call from a "Russell Bale (sp?) with Legal Mediation Division 217" using (303) 951-4754.

They stopped for a while and then today I received a call from "Julie Hyman" using (303) 565-5762.

This is just getting ridiculous. The messages are worded differently but it's so obviously a scam to get personal information out of you. The fact that my "telephone number and possibly your social security number" could be linked to a transaction just sold me on the fact that this is a scam. They need to be stopped already.

I too have received the exact same calls, they told me I was being combative because I was asking questions.  Sorry if you cannot mail me a letter of validation then I can't agree to any terms.

so the woman that keeps calling me while i'm at work says that i will be facing two felony charges if i didn't pay $578 today, goes by the name Brandy Byers. i spoke for a while, told her to call me on my lunch break. she calls me back. i ignored her call. so she calls me repeatedly from a blocked call! I finally answer considering the fact that she was interupting my work. she doesn't answer. when i hang up and call back another guy answers. so i decide to request some sort of document supporting their legal reason to be calling me! the man says he's transfering me but than i get disconnected. i've had this number for years now. but am definitely considering to change it after all this bs today!

I have been getting these same scam calls from several people All with a heavy Okie/Texas accent-voice is ethnic.
They demand SS #, Name, Credit Card info
If they are calling me about any debt, felony, name associated with a tel # they should have my name - RIGHT!
Well, I have blocked all calls, everyone should do the same.  As soon as the call comes in answer, hang up and then post the number to your contacts and block
I so far have blocked 12 numbers and they continue to come up with new numbers AMAZING
If you do not answer they leave a 5 min vm message same script as when they start talking.
Everyone should contact their local FBI offices since the scam has crossed state lines which now makes it a federal fraud case and the feds have better access to find owners or ping the callers # for exact location and raid the boiler room operation.
How many have been tricked, how many people are fools to believe this total [***] they are trying to sell?
I have never received calls like this.
Best part is the cell # they are calling is a pay by the min unregistered untitled phone a burner if you want to get technical that I have had for yrs so how do they have a debt, felony prosection to a phone that has no name attached to it.
Everyone should tel their senior citizen parent to not fall for this scam

I live in Florida and get these calls....they are the biggest idiots ever! If someone is going to take you to court you get a summons. I feel for the elderly who get scammed...These pathetic scam artists should be ashamed of themselves....they will rot in eternal hell!

Equity funding? joke company name....just like mark jefferson and then the same man sounding like he plugged his nose presenting as Ronald Jones. They really need an acting course lol!

Just got the same call, the girl could not even correctly said my last name... I told her that I got a call like this two years ago and one last year. I told her that I have filed two  complaints toward them.... She hung up on me... They were all going to hell from trying to scam people..

I got the exact same call today.  I have received calls like this before just with a different person doing the calling.  I will report this to the attorney general in North Carolina.  I wish someone would stop these people!

What can be done about these people constantly trying to scam hard working people out of their money? Every time I block their numbers, they call me on another number with the same script. I am so tired of these loosers calling my phone with this bogus information. Go get a real job and stop trying to scam people.I will be filing a complaint.

My experience was almost the exact same as one of the above posts Anon 6-15.  I received 3 calls in a row from this number, same exact script.  I also received something in the mail stating I must mail a letter stating I am not responsible for this debt within a certain amount of time.  I saved it.  So ridiculous!  I will be reporting this to Atty. General in PA.

Legal mediation about my name and social security final attempt to contact me last chance to contact them with out legal actions

I received the same exact message as others who have received calls from the 303 565 5762 today 6.17.15.  For the past four years these people have been harassing me with different phone numbers and similar messages. Sometimes it's a male with a creepily disguised Texas-sounding accent, someone from India who cannot clearly articulate the claim against me or today the woman (Julie Hymen) with no distinctly identifiable accent but a name that just sounds fictitious. The first time I received a call like this was four years ago and it was so scary I thought I was going to get arrested at my job.  Today I just don't answer my phone unless I recognize the number or hear a non scammy voicemail.  Too many numbers to block! Thank you all for your posts. They've spared me unnecessary stress.
