- TC10/20/09 6:19p. A man asked for my husband by first name and when I asked him if I could help him he said no, it's about a federal tax matter. He asked me if I was at.... (gave an address) I said no, you must have the wrong person. He said ok and hung up. Very strange! Remember - don't give your info. only verify. If wrong- say no.

- In mt pleasantI had a call today just like the previous person. My first name and my business phone number. Wrong address. Are these people tryting to scam people out of money by makng them fearful?
- again in mt p| 1 replyBBB shows no complaints against them. But, they have only been a member since august of last year.
- JohnReceived a call claiming a federal tax lien has been put against me. I asked what organization she was with, she replied Berkshire Financial. I let her know that the IRS contacts people through official mail only. This is quite strange since my tax return was accepted and I receive a refund allready. Must be desperate.

- JoeThe national pandemic of telephone terrorism perpetrated by desperate criminal collection agencies is because they are trying to terrorize people who are naive enough to answer and submit to unsolicited telephone calls or written "collection" letters that have no legitimate legal debt associated with them (a.k.a. "zombie debts") or with any of the companies, universities, or whomever else they claim to represent. Because most "little guys" were bankrupted by the criminal Wall St/Congress/Big Oil/Big Business/Military robber barons, so the desperate collection agencies and other grifters are attempting to collect unpaid debts from innocent people by terrorizing them into submission. Apparently, this criminal activity has extended into rogue "back-taxes" scams, as the rift between Wall Street and Main Street continues to grow, particularly with Europe's increasing "bail-outs" joining these ranks of career criminal low-lifes.
Word of advice. NEVER answer any calls you don't recognize or are not expecting. Use selective call rejection service if available, or switch to an Internet-based telephone service which provides comprehensive call rejection options. If rogue calls become chronic, turn off all the ringers on all of your phones except one, and set its volume to the minimum setting. If you don't answer the call and the caller is legitimate, they will usually leave a voicemail after the first or second try. Rogue callers never leave voicemail messages because that could be used as evidence against them if it came to a lawsuit. If you receive a rogue letter in the mail warning you of some "collection" action against you, if you don't actually owe it, reply with a short letter stating that you don't owe it, you've never done any business with them of any kind, and you expect the collection agency to close the matter, stop harassing you and take any bad credit marks they've caused off of your credit rating, and furthermore, that any further contact from them must be in writing and signed on their official business correspondence letterhead. Send your letter to them a.s.a.p., always within thirty days, first class certified mail return receipt requested. If they refuse it and you get the letter back unopened, leave it unopened and save it in your files as evidence against them should they pursue legal action against you. If they did receive it and continue to pursue action against you, let them. The judge will throw it out of court if the rogue agency's attorney(s) doesn't drop it first. Warn all your friends about this rash of desperate collection agency and other criminal acts of terrorism, and how to combat them. You have legal rights. Learn them and exercise them. Above all, keep a record of everything, of every rogue call w/ caller ID information displayed including exact time and date of each call. Maintain a complete file on any snail-mailed intimidation from rogue collection agencies or other criminal enterprises, including copies of all correspondences and postal receipts.

- TrevorThey used to be Quantum Financial Solutions. They are a scam company. They are using some old companies records who used to do mortgage brokering. Now they claim they have been doing taxes for over 12 years. The only licensed person they have is Micheal McBride, CPA and all the other associates are salesmen in disguise as "tax professionals".

- dontcallmeThanks for the link Waco, their web site is a total joke! If you can even get the drop-downs to work, they apparently have NO staff and NO professional affiliations!
Don: If they had ANY credentials, wouldn't they advertise them on their web pages? Looks like a two-year-old made their site.- Caller: Berkshire

- Bob replies to donYou obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Berkshire is a total scam. They changed their name from Quantum Financial last year because they had an F with the BBB. Honestly, It's people like you that get taken by these companies and then end up being out the fee you paid, plus being in deeper with the IRS. BE SMART MAN! KNOW HOW TO DO YOUR RESEARCH! I HOPE YOU DIDN'T HIRE THEM!
- Bill from NYThese guys called today...same MO as with others....IRS tax lein, we're here to help, etc.
The caller was a very professional sounding young lady; likely a recent college grad.
I started asking questions about who they were and why they where calling me.....they were pretty evasive. Once I said I'd need to invlove my attorney....CLICK...they hung up without another word.
Not sure what they were up to but it sure smelled fishy.- Caller: Berkshire Finacial

- Mike in CalifI had voicemail on my phone. They said they were calling regarding an "IRS matter", referenced a PO box # (I do not have a PO box), and left an 866# for me to call back. My called ID lists Berkshire with this 303-862-3102 number.
I am on the "Do Not Call" registry, so I will report these people.- Caller: Berkshire

- ErickI received a call from a 303-862-3102 and this people asked to speak with a Glass Mechanix owner. They obiously called the wrong number. When I advised of it they insisted to get the name of whom they were calling. I told them to call the appriate people and they just refused to listened. I just hang up because they would not listen.

- ToddReceived a call from the same number as other replies, 303-862-3102. A message was left from Victoria, and wanted me to call her back at extension 411. When I called the number back, another person answered and I heard him say, hey Victoria I have a call back for you. When she got on the phone, she started asking questions very rapidly...Is XXX your company?, is XXX your address?, did you know about a state lien filing against you? I asked her who filed the lien? She stated that she didn't know, but was there to give me options for payments. The red flags went off in my head, so I took control of the conversation and began to start questioning her. I asked for her company...she stated Berkshire Financial. I quickly googled the area code and asked her why would a company in Colorado be calling me about a "state lien"? She stated that they were a Government Agency that helps with payment options/plans with the IRS. I then confronted her about the fact she told me she didn't know who filed the lien, but now she stated it was from the IRS. She quickly hung up on me.
- Caller: Berkshire Financial
- ljSame as everyone else had several calls no messages and then when I picked up tonight supposed tax lien, wrong address and then when I called her out on being on the no call list, along with the fact we have no tax issues or lien issues she got very snippy and hung up on me.
