Caller from this number told me they were with 'the credit department for the magazines I subscribe to'. When I asked which magazines, they hung up. I see the number is supposedly listed to a Julia Delisa-Hook, though it was a male voice.

This company called and said that they would extend the magazine subsciption for the magazines I ordered for two years and not to accept calls from any other company offering to make the same extentions or I would get the magazines in duplicate or triplicate. When I said I wasn't interested in any more magazines they said. "Ok, well just let them know you are taken care of for the next two years" and hung up.

I believe this has something to do with the e-rewards.com company. I used my e-rewards credits to get a couple of free magazine subscriptions, so they must have sold my information to some magazine subscription company that is now calling and harassing me. Many times, they just call and when I answer they just hang up and never say a word.

Called me and gave me the "magazines extended, do not buy from others" line. Asked for my age and occupation. When I said that I don't give out that information they hung up without a word.

I noticed this number on my caller id for awhile now (maybe a month or more) but they never leave a message.  I never paid attention to til I finally answered the phone tonight and had the same thing happen to me (that everyone else is describing).
Namely, this guy says he works for a company that monitors magazine subscriptions and that he doesn't want me to listen to the magazine companies when they tell me my subscriptions are going to expire.  And that he can get me a better rate than directly from the company.  I asked what magazines are you talking about and he said "We cover a long list of magazines like Maxim, Rolling Stone, etc."
I asked what he wanted from me (don't worry, I knew this was a scam) and he said that he needed to update his files.  So he asks me my age and I cut him off and say I don't answer such questions over the phone to strangers.  He said Ok and that he would note that on my account.  Yeah, right!

So the past couple of weeks my husband has been getting calls from a place saying he's in debt and owes money on his Maxim magazines.  First of all, he doesn't owe money.  We know this because he got it for free.  He never gave his credit card to them - nothing.  All they have is his address and phone number.  Second, whenever they call they specifically ask for my husband.  If I answer and specifically say it's his wife they say they'll call back another time and immediately hang up.

Which is funny, because in Missouri ALL OF HIS DEBT is my debt.  Which means ANYONE can talk to me without his permission.  The only debt that doesn't count for is student loans.

Well, I've tried calling this number back, but it takes me to a voicemail - like one you'd hear for a Verizon phone.  I know it's a scam, because they say they've reported him to a collection's agency but his credit is still perfect and they don't have his SSN.

Anyway, I just got off the phone with Maxim and they said if these people call again to tell them you're going to report them to the FCC and Attorney General.  It will scare the crap out of them and never call again.
