303-951-4206, 303-800-2395, 303-800-2394 and 303-800-0402 keep calling everyday.  MS Society shows in caller ID, but when we spoke with the supervisor, she states, these are no MS Society numbers. They call every day since April

Since April, 2010, have been getting calls from "MS Society," 303/800-2394, 0402, and 2395.  Answered one and no one was there and it hung up.  How do you make them stop????

I got a few of these also - from both this # and the 1-303-951-4206 #.  When I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message, and if I did answer nobody was on the line.  When I looked up the #s and saw these posts saying it was the MS society I asked someone from our local chapter of the NMSS about it, and here's what I was told:

    1)  The calls are from the NMSS' call center in Denver, which I guess is a fairly new endeavor.  The purpose is to ask you if you'd like to volunteer for something called the Helping Hands Campaign.

    2)  They've been instructed not to leave messages in the event that someone else (who may or may not  know that you have MS) is listening to the message.  So they will just keep attempting to call until they speak with you.  (Except that there seems to be a timing issue, since they seem to be hanging up before you answer.)

Most important part:  To get removed from the list, call 1-800-344-4867 and ask to be removed from the Helping Hands Campaign call list.

I have been getting so many of these calls... I called the local chapter of the national MS Society and spoke to a supervisor there.  She said it was from the Helping Hands and was able to take me off the calling list herself.  This is so unfortunate for the MS Society.  They've contracted out for their money drive and this other company is acting slimy.  Both of my parents have MS and even I am turned off by this.

Yes, this number calls all the time.  Must annoying!  It is from the MS society.  I'm a supporter my wife and 3 of her sisters have it.  They need to do something about this.

I have received a call every day (both early AM to late PM) from MS Society 1-303-951-4206
for over a month.  When I pick up, I do not hear anyone on the other end but have asked
repeatedly for them not to call back.  After a month, I ended up filing a FCC complaint(esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm), as I did not know what else to do.

I finally found this message thread, and thanks to Mel V, I called the 1-800-344-4867
After waiting 15 minutes, I was able to get a human being on the line.  That person redirected me
to another person in charge of the list who said that they would contact the 3rd party vendor
to get me off the list. (BTW: most non-profits sub-contract to outside telemarketing companies)

These people have been calling me daily 7 days a week at all given hours for months. I also have answered, called back et al to no avail.  Many Thanks to Mel V for the number to contact to be removed from the list.  We'll see what happens.  It is sad for the MS society to contract out using valuable donated funds and result in putting out such an annoying message on behalf of this cause.  Truly Sad.

Blurg! I called the number Mel V posted and was routed to my local MS Society office. There was no choice to talk to a person only to leave a message. I feel like if I leave a message asking to be taken off the list no one will call me back. On the other hand I feel badly using another reason to get someone to call me. The people in the local office have no control over the calls and are actually using their time for a good reason. So unfortunate.

If you call the number back and press #1 for further information, it will take you to an announcement that says if you press #3, you can be removed from their calling list...it worked for me!  Those of us with family members with MS or any other disease should not be barraged with calls from these 'money seekers'...they should be calling those who are not afflicted as of yet...they do good things, but we have enough stress without their calls during suppers and after 9:00 eastern time.
