- Fran KingIt was a recorded message saying the IRS was filing charges against me. I was to call this number. I called and got some man with an accent (sounded east indian). He informed me my taxes were incorrect for 2009 and 2013 and I owed additional money. When I asked for documentation to be sent so I could verify what he stated, the name calling started, such as f__king [***]. I advised he should get a real job and quit preying on people. It got worse. I advised until they could send proper documentation, then I would no longer speak to them and promptly hung up.

- mickeyReceived call at 6:05 AM - startled, I answered it. Even though they didn't get a chance to say anything, I could tell by static that it must be out of the country. Caller ID said W. Virginia Call. I immediately hung up. Checking my phone, found that the same number had left a message yesterday on my answering machine - IRS is going to arrest me....etc.
- Leanawoman said that she was officer Kelly Brown and her ID number was IRM0156. Yes, she did say that she was with the IRS and they were filing suit against me for taxes that I had miscalculated for the period 2009 - 2013. She said that this was a violation of and IRS code but did not give the number. The total amount she wanted me to pay was $5,950. I told her that my caller ID said that she was calling me from Virginia and that I would call the IRS directly because I thought that she was a scammer. She said that not all branches of the IRS would have this information.(Yes, she does have a thick middle eastern accent). I told her that I knew for a fact that the IRS will send something in writing and saw nothing in the mail. She started screaming at me asking me if I wanted all of my accounts frozen and the authorities called and I told her that this is not the IRS. I then hung up.
It bothers me for two reasons: 1. that someone may eventually believe that this is true, and 2. that she knew my home address.
I've reported such things to the FCC, and I don't know if there is ever anything done about it.- Caller: IRS

- MamaJen| 1 replyThey've called 4 or 5 times since Thursday 11/19 at 10:21am. I never answer. I went right to this website when I got the chance to see who this is. I will now block the number (obviously). This scam is one of the most frequent scams lately. Other scams include "Rachel (or various other names) from Card Holder Services" and winning money where you need to provide them with your checking account number so they can "deposit" the funds. Some other credit/debit card scams I've come accross include Chase Bank and Bank One.
