SCAM:   Caller said to send $500.00 cashiers check to Cynthia Madison ,6909 W Highway 92, Wiliamsburg, KY 40769.  Caller confirmed with her boss Mr. Greene at 304-843-8269 that person called had won $250,000.00 and a new 2010 Ford motor vehicle if $500.00 was sent right away to them.  Very persistent and they called back to see if sent.  No money sent to them.   Never give personal information out over phone and beware of these type of scams.

Caller today with a heavy Nigerian accent, insisted that he was Joe with UPS and that he had a $6MILLION check to deliver to me today from "the government."  He wanted to verify my address which was a long string of numbers with no street, no city...  I asked him to tell me what street name he had and he started over on his script... "this is Joe with UPS...".  I told him that he was trying to scam me and he said, "wait, wait... this is Joe with UPS..."

I think Bugs Bunny said it best.  WHAT A MARROON!

Our newspaper received a warning today from the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office that a local man received a call from this number. The responding deputy placed a controlled return phone call and reported "a distinct Nigerian accent." The caller wanted the local resident to purchase $800 in "money pack cards," but said he was waiting at the local Kentucky Friend Chicken restaurant with a $3.5 million prize and a bonus of a new Mercedes. The sheriff's office said the scammer would then ask for the money pack card numbers. "At that point, the scammer became somewhat irate and began yelling at the man to provide the card number. He told them he would lose his job if they did not give him the numbers," the sheriff's office reported.
