The callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card number to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!

The card service scammers   WILL   "service" our credit cards,   BUT,   when they finish "servicing" them, they will have no available credit remaining!

Is there any way to get these calls stopped?  It does not matter that I am on the do not call lists, that I have asked them not to call back, that I have pushed a button to tell them I don't want to be bothered......................they just keep on day after day, week after week, month after month.  I know they have been calling me for at least two years, maybe longer.  I wish we could find out just who they are and file charges against them.  Any suggestions?

You're right, the "card services" scam has been going on for years, and is likely to continue, unless those of us who are aware of the scam, alert the folks that are the main targets of this scam, the low income, the gullible, and the elderly, before they are taken advantage of. Once the scammers sources of income dries up, the calls will become unprofitable for them. In the meantime It's wise not to answer calls from numbers we're not familiar with (especially from out of the local area) and to NEVER return a call to these lowlifes, as they won't remove numbers from their "calling list" (there is none) and by doing such it is likely the calls will INCREASE, as that number has now been validated as a "live" number. As for the annoyance factor, some people have reported success with blocking the calls, and even though nearly all the numbers appearing on caller id are spoofed (falsified), there could be some value in the long run, with reporting them as violators of the do not call registry. We need to realize we are not just dealing with annoying telemarketers, but criminals!

The card service scammers don't "get" anyone's phone number--they use a robodialer, which dials numbers in a sequential order, until someone answers, and becomes their next potential victim. They never leave a message, because they can't cheat an answering machine.
