The callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card numbers to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!

I can see the "possible" connection between the "card services" scammers and Convergys Network, a company that recruits telemarketers, but I cannot understand the association with CAB Asset Management, a company that specializes in debt recovery. The card service scammers have never, as far as I know, been involved in any debt collection activity, only attempts to obtain people's credit card numbers, for fraudulent purposes. I would be very interested in  any information regarding the possible association.

Today 4/10/14 @ 1 PM was the 3rd call I have received from the above phone number. On my caller ID it states:
V43003900315, then gives the number 305-368-8255. Last week I also received a call from the same number. I DO NOT intend to answer these calls, as I know they are scams. Please be advised of this situation.

Look at the convergys website and see what they call their collection arm of the business, (CAB). Convergys has many facets that include marketing, telemarketing, call centers, and clients in debt collection. Have noticed that you post under very similar threads of received calls. I've also posted the convergys / CAB association under 954 area code numbers, sometimes they have a slight slip of the tongue so to speak. Yes, I do agree that there are many scammers working the system but I think the debt collection industry works off that system also as misdirection.

This particular "cell" of "card services" scammers use 305- 368 ****, and 360- 322 **** numbers almost exclusively, and often in a repetitive manner. Even though the numbers are spoofed, I picked up a strong indication, through, as you remarked, a slip of the tongue, (that they were being affected by a hurricane that was passing by them, in the gulf, late last summer or early fall) that the calls were originating in Florida. The website of Convergys lists employment opportunities in Florida, and It has been reported in numerous print and electronic media that many of the "card services" scammers are recruited at Narcotics Anonymous meeting in Florida--any connection there??? I have not followed any of the collections lowlifes, but it would be interesting to know if some of their primary usage numbers are associated with the above mentioned area codes and numbers. Tom

Thanks for the info Tom. Yes, it's impossible to tell the difference between professional scammers and scamming professionals. Looking back through strictly "card services" calls have seen area codes 360, 305, 315, 718. Slip of the tongue as in using names and then changing names stories. Have also seen many "card services" stories on 800notes. Are you receiving these calls and researching or just researching? No, I don't know where and how they find these people, just know that they call and yes, lots of telemarketing jobs in FL for compliant and non-compliant sales. Check for LI fronters and LI closers

The "card services'' scammers annoyed us nearly 2 years ago, and them I read posts of an old regular here that had himself and his family repeatedly threatened by these lowlifes, and then my research started. Still receive the calls occasionally, and when I have the time, and choose to answer, I have a predetermined script that I use to tie them up for long periods, until they finally get frustrated and hang up. NEVER let on you're playing with them, as that is what happened to the aforementioned poster. Playing the part of the old man works best, and eventually the calls diminish--I do suspect they have the ability to remove certain numbers from their robodialer that are found to be problematic or disruptive. We have to make the best of it, when these degenerates call.
