WARNING--BEWARE!!  These callers are   B I G  credit card criminals, known as the the card service scammers. Under NO circumstances give these lowlifes your credit card number, or it will be regretted forever!

The card service scammers   WILL   "service" our credit cards,   BUT,   when they finish "servicing" them, they will have NO available credit remaining. People that are fooled into having their cards "serviced" will have a MINIMUM of $795.00 charged to them, and many times the entire amount remaining on the card. These callers are a disgusting group of degenerates, who prey on the low income, and the elderly, but will defraud anyone that they can.

I do get these calls even though I am on the national do not call registry. I did not answer and they left no message on my machine. I screen all of my calls because of people like this. The above messages is why I screen all calls.

I'm on the DNC list too. I picked up  yesterday anyway and listened to the recording; pressed 9 "to be connected to an agent" then told that pseudo-agent to remove my number from their calling list. Still, they called again today, I waited again and asked "who am I speaking to" expecting to hear the man's name , instead he said "Visa-MasterCard" and when I told him I was going to report them for calling me, he hung up!

How do you block a call from your telephone?  I am also getting these calls and am on a DNC register.  How do these scammers get away with this?  They called and no one seemed to be on the telephone.  Please, someone help me get this blocked.  If I know how to do this I can block all of them I don't want!  Thanks.

Received a call this morning from this number-stated they were calling about my credit card.  I hung up.  I'm on the Do Not Call List.

Like @swillygt - call received - call blocked. This is the 2nd day & number I've gotten a call from where the caller ID reads just "FLORIDA" - so I blocked all calls from "FLORIDA" from any number. The other number that called yesterday was
    305-368-8364 - go figure.

Depending on the type of service you have, blocking can be accomplished by your service provider, the phone itself, or a blocking device which is purchased. First check with your service provider to see if they offer call blocking. You will ant to block the ENTIRE 305 area code if possible, or at least 305- 368 numbers to rid yourself of this "cell" of these annoying pests. Only legitimate companies obey the do not call lists, and the card service scammers are definitely not members of that group.

Best thing to do is to spend about $60 on Amazon for the ProCallBlocker which is easy to use and will block up to 1500 numbers.    After getting a call like this (which I just did)  hang up and press two buttons and the number is blocked.  I never speak when I get strange calls knowing that they are waiting for someone to speak.  If I get an almost immed hangup, I know it's a bogus call.  If someone on the other end starts to speak...  I listen to see what type of call it is, and will then usually block it if it's a solicitor or political.   Occasionally, if they start out with something like "Would you be interested in a "Safety Alert machine",  I'll start to express real interest and get halfway through the first sentence of "Gee, I was thinking of getting one of those"  but then I hang up and block the call.  I like to mess with their minds.

Unfortunately, the Do Not Call Registry cannot always help with the scam callers.  They keep changing their phone numbers, so one is blocked and they try again from a different number.  I get angry when I think about how easy it must be to just keep getting a new phone number when your old one becomes unusable.  I wish I knew where to report that abuse of the system.

The most effective way is to block these number individually on your own phone, if your phone service provider offers that option.  I have about forty numbers blocked through my provider.   Sometimes I have to go in and remove an older number to add another one that pops up.  Like this one did today.  I record the type of call and the month/year of when I blocked it so I can tell which ones to remove if I need to do that.

Just as an example, a payday loan company that keeps trying to scam me into large cash payments has used over 15 different phone numbers to harass me.  This started in 2012 when I became victim to identity theft.  And scam artists like this will sell your  number to someone else (they do it in blocks, probably by area code and three digit exchange).  It is a never ending problem, and I don't have any answers.  But I wish there was a government office or agency that would take this problem seriously and come up with some methods to curtail this constant phishing or spamming.

I do know this.  First, if you answer the phone, even if you are cursing or yelling or threatening them, they now know it is a working number and it gets either tried again and again or they sell it to some other creep who will do the same thing.  If I do not recognize the phone number or the name/city/state that appears on my phone and on my TV screen, I pick up the phone on the first ring and hang up immediately.  The caller then usually tries again, thinking it was a bad connection.  I repeat the action as many times as they call.

Sometimes I pick up the phone on the first ring, and just set the receiver down it some back bedroom where there is no noise of any kind and leave it there until I hear the disconnect buzz that indicates they hung up.  If they are going to try and harass me, they can expect some of the same.  However, I NEVER talk to them.  That only proves there is a real person at the number they dialed.  One of my sons (with a deep official voice) answers these calls by saying "Police Department" -- that usually stops the calls.  I have another friend who answers by saying "FTC Complaint Desk", which is also effective.

Don't play into their game.  Eventually, they will get tired of never getting a response, or they will think they reached a non-working number.

I report every call here, in order to help others who have this problem and are searching the Internet for help.  I also file an FTC complaint on every number, every time.  Doesn't appear to make a difference, but eventually the FTC will get tired of my complaints and maybe someone will contact me to ask me to stop.  Then I will tell them that they need to do something to stop this NOW.

I have defeated >80% of harassment robo calls including "CARD SVC". I went on line to Amazon and purchased an in line "CPR CALL BLOCKER"! It has an inventory of up to 1200 numbers in a call blocker list. You must be carful in setting up the list or you will get unexpected blockages of your incomming valid calls. So far I have blocked area codes 212, 305, 347, 360, 516, 518, and 773 because I have no family in those area codes. You must be careful not to block area codes of friends and relatives. You can also block selected individual numbers in any area code.

There are many other brands of call blockers than the one i have described. Choose one and BLOCK THOSE HARASSMENT CALLS!!!!!

10:49AM on 8/13/14 -- Very interesting information from other people that have been called from this phone number. I do not answer calls I don't know, that is what caller ID is for, plus NO message was left. No surprise there. I am also on the DNC list and don't see it working when I get so many calls from people or companies I don't know. They are wasting their time calling. I hope no one else answers or is tricked into anything that harms them.
