- Resident| 1 replyI suspect this is the number of an IRS phone scam. Caller insisted that there is legal action by the IRS and that I should call back. Having been the recipient of a similar scam before, I didn't call back. Caller appears to have an Indian accent.
- SK replies to ResidentI received the same phone message this morning at 7 a.m.! I thought it was a strange number and to be a recording. It looks to be a scam....I will not be calling this number back.
- AlertI got a call from this number today alleging IRS "lawsuit action". Indian accent. Very suspicious. Very likely a scam.
- DHGot two "urgent" messages by a man claiming that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. Used the name Chris Rogers. Had a very slight foreign accent. The IRS doesn't make calls like this out of the blue. Won't be returning his calls. Will be blocking the number. Watch out!
- Caller: "IRS"
- Call type: Debt collector
- hpThis a scam call, beware
- rcFrank Rogers from IRS with Indian accent called 305-440-4947 said was going to send FBI & Police out to get us on Monday morning. I said "if it was true, IRS would normally mail something out in writing".
He said "oh well wait for the police and FBI". I will report this to the IRS. - USAMaidOur local television news station had a story about a woman who received one of these calls and went to the police with it. It is a scam. They are also using (402) 935-7733 FYI.
- Caller: IRS (hahaha, right!)
- Call type: Prank
- A W SI called back. Listened to the guy. Didn't believe him. Told him, I am waiting for the police to arrest me.
- Caller: claiming that he is from IRS
- GPReceived two urgent calls from this phone, ID is "NOT AVAILABLE", the same message as described by DH above. IRS will never hide their ID, I think, so, in my opinion, this is a scam. I found this info on IRS website about phone scams http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Warns-of-Pervasive-Telephone-Scam
- Caller: claim to be from IRS
- ChicagoReceived two calls on Friday from Chris Rogers. Same recording both times. Very suspicious.
