- Charlie| 1 replyHi I just got a call from this number too saying they were going to sue me for taking out a loan but could not give me any info sounds like a scam
- Alfalfa replies to CharlieThis is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
ABC News released an investigative report on this scam a year ago:

- Bridgette Douglas replies to Karen MascheIt is a scam/con. Do not give them any money or give them any information about you. Simply hang up in their face AFTER telling them to never call your number again.
I told the gentleman who called my number that I never had a loan and I would see them in court. Of course, he could never tell me what court or what day. If there is a warrant for you, believe me, you would have been notified by mail, not by telephone. - anonymous employer| 1 replymy employee keeps getting calls from this numbers too - i keep taking calls from them saying they are not allowed personal phone calls at work yet they keep calling back- frustrating for her and the whole office as we have to keep answering his calls as this is a business

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/phantom-debt-co ... ory?id=16512428 - joyceThey kept calling my home number asking for my brother. I told them to stop calling and that he didnt live here. Now, my brother did get a small loan from these racketeers and ge had them take it out of his bank account. Stupid, I know. Anyway, they continued to take money even after it was paid in full. The bank is helping my brother, but he had to set up a new account until it gets resolved. I finally answered one of there calls and told them if they didn't stp calling I would file a complaint with the Wash. Atty Generals office. Now they have my cell number! How in thw heck did they get that #? I'm pissed!
- Caller: never got that info
- ben mKeep calling leaving threatening voice mails, saying they are taking me to court. When I demand specific info they say they cannot give it to me.
I did take out a loan but i payed it back...
Also this is a cycle about every two months where they call for a week at a time with phoney names.
Last month one of them threatened to get physical with me.
My answer is to hound them as much as they hound me. I have since been call-blocked by them. - KimThis is crazy but they call u every two months or so complaining and asking for money ......I have refused to give them any money..., I don't owe them nothing .... Beware of these type of ppl
- Caller: 3055074335
- Gerry| 1 replythis is crazy, I have had to many calls from this number. Finally got a name Raymond Jones. something about sueing me for money I never asked for. Now they got my Employers phone number, I don't know how.
They called my and gave me the message they called. How do I stop this!! - ScottThis number keep calling my house and now started calling my employer for a loan I never had, how do I get them to stop calling. I actually started calling the number back and harassing them. Simon, Kevin, and a paul Davis, they got so pissed they started blocking my calls
- Call type: Debt collector
- ReceptionistThis number called my place of business, where there is a que, so I missed the first half of the message. They are absolutely insane , all I got to hear was the number, and them saying we will be sorry if we don't call back. It was so silly, I couldn't help but laugh.
- Wayne replies to Karen MascheThis is a scam. report to local law enforcement and also run your own credit report regarding potential identity theft. Don't give them info. if they ask to veryify your ssn, don't verify.
- betty Robinson| 1 replyThese people keep calling me at work. I can not receive calls I am a teacher asst. They are talking about letting me go, they call every day.
- Caller: black aassociats
- PISSEDOFFMOMMAThese people have called me from this number as well as 305-423-0092 and 786-375-9077 they call approximately 20-30 times a day on both my personal number and work number, they recite off my ss# and ask me to verify it I refuse to and they tell me a bank acct# and bank name that is not mine as well as an address that is not mine. I have only spoken with them twice and they have left multiple messages on my work voicemail calling me a [***] and a [***] and screaming. Yesterday when they called I answered my work phone saying what do you want and they wouldn't tell me and after this "Raymond Scott" guy got mad because I wouldn't verify anything or say anything other than what do you want he put his so-called company lawyer on the phone but I am not stupid it was him still but I told the "lawyer" that I have contacted the FBI (which I have), the police (which I have) the FTC (which I have) and the attorney general (which I have) and I have also spoke with my own lawyer and my company's corporate lawyer and he wanted the lawyers info which I wouldn't provide unless he provided me with valid, verifyable info on himself and his company, needless to say he refused and continued to tell me that he had a criminal case against my ss# because I owed him $4000 and I asked him to provide signed documents proving I owed him this money and he said he didn't have to by law he just had to tell me the amount which is false BY LAW they HAVE to provide backup to their claim that I owe them money and the number of times they have called is harassment! Well they continued to yell at me and tell me they were going to call my employer and get me fired.........now that is false because I have spoken to all the executives within my company and warned them about this scam and what I have done! THen the guy proceeded to tell me that if I gave them my credit card number and wrote out some sort of statement they would "settle" with me for like $985.00....how does it go from $4000 to $900? Not legitimate company would settle that low.........I took all the info they would give me made them "think" I was scared and I was going to pay them but I have no intentions of doing so, I am going to find out who exactly they are and I will sue the pants off these foreigners trying to scam me and harassing me in the process because I have enough backup to prove their harassment! And I will continue to report them daily and call the police and FBI and I will not pay them, I have blocked every number they call from on my cell phone they are a scam report them and call the credit reporting companies and get your ss# flagged
- Caller: they do not specify
- nena123 replies to Karen Masche| 1 replyI got a call from 305=507-4429 about the same thing, They want me to go to a CVS pharmacy today before 400pm and call them when I get there so that they can tell me how to make a payment of $500. or else I would be heading to jail tomorrow. They gave me some charges that I am being sued for and gave me the last four of my SS number. Case number was given so that I could make sure the payment goes through. I looked up this number and it says telemarketers, but no name. They said they were calling from Black and Associates in Miami. I also looked that up and it is a totally different number. I don't know want to pay something that I know don't owe, but how do I find out if it is real or not?
- Elspeth replies to nena123It's NOT real if they're threatening you with arrest over a bogus debt. No one gets a heads up they'll be arrested, not to mention that debt is a civil matter, not criminal, so there are NO charges. Legitimate businesses also do not threaten you and do not tell you that you have to pay x amount of dollars by a certain time or else.
Report the call to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General. If these yahoos call back, tell them you're recording every single call they make to you on the advice of your attorney (even if you don't have one) for multiple violations of the FDCPA. DO NOT PAY THEM!
Bottom line, legitimate businesses send dunning letters, which would be your cue to call them and demand that they MAIL documentation (per the FDCPA) proving you owe them a debt. You do not get calls saying "if you don't pay so much money by this time today, you'll be arrested". That's a scammer's way of scaring people into paying bogus debts. - Elspeth replies to AnnoymousThey're scammers - of course they're going to tell people not to post anything negative. Your identity when you post on 800notes.com IS secure - unless you post identifying information - which you should never do on a public forum.
