This is an IRS tax phone scam. They will say you own back taxes but have no information on you and will try to get you to send them money.

This number called left a message about a criminal law suit against me. And when I called back the man had my address from 10 yrs ago. and when I asked him why the IRS that I filed taxes with every year doesn't have my recent address, he hung up!

"Five the moment you receive this message I need you or your retained attorney of records to return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. My phone number is 305-600-0338. Do not disregard this message and do return the call. Now if you don't return the call and I don't hear from your attorney either then the only thing I can do is wish you good luck as the situation totally unfolds on you. Goodbye."

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Yes these [***] called me today 2/3/16 with the same message to call them back asap. Or I would have to go to criminal court and have to pay $75,000 and lawyer fees. Also I would have a warren out for my arrest in 48hrs and if I worked with them in paying my back taxes today I would be ok. I was transferred to 3 different agents bc I guess I mad to much much mouth. Anyway the fake agents kept telling me they didn't care about what I was saying to them  because what I was saying was logical. They told me not to down my taxes for this yr yet ( the reason why they said that is bc they know the tax preparas would have told me I didn't own the government anything ) they also told me not to tell my cpa, spouse etc anyway after I told them I had NO MONEY not even $20 (the man says no money and then hangs up on me. ONE THING THAT I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TAUGHT WAS NEVER TO GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFO OVER THE PHONE TO PPL THAT CALL THEY SHOULD HAVE ALL YOUR INFORMATION ALREADY. NEVER GIVE ANY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS, OR BANK INFORMATION OUT ETC. BE CARE FULL. THE DEVIL IS ALIVE.

Got the same robo message, sounding like a James Bond movie. Since they had called my husband's business cell several times and it was a nuisance, I was ready for an argument to have his number removed and tell them they had the wrong guy. Tried the number the call originated from, which was 209-813-2072 and it said the number was no longer in service. Tried the number the robot left, 305-600-0338 and got a busy signal. Maybe they've been busted and are using different phone numbers now. It would be nice if they were completely shut down, but I'm sure that's just wishful thinking! (I labeled this call as "prank" instead of "debt collector" since this is definitely not a legit company.)
