I received an e-mail wanting my social security number and them saying I owed them almost $1,000. It was a crazy e-mail saying they were going to tell my employer, bank and everyone but God that I had committed Bank Fraud.  It was just insane.

I received the same email as posted above, unbelievable!

I got the same email ... This is a total scam ... I am in the process of reporting them to the Internet Crimes Division.  From what I have read about them, they are from India or somewhere overseas.  Do not give them a dime!  If you are still scared, ask them to send you validation of the debt because they have to by law AND there is no way that you are going to court within the next week or two like they claim.  It just doesnt work that way.  If you did receive an email, read it very carefully and you will see that it contains language and references that just don't make sense.  If they are legit then they will have that information you request that they send you, if they are just phising then they will not. If you happen to talk to them, do not offer them any information at all, any information that they have obtained they have obtained over the internet or illegally I am sure.  Stand your ground and tell them to [***]!

If you were going to be sued the notification would not come in an email! It would come certified letter or you would be served. This is a total scam!!!

NO!!! These CRIMINALS are NOT legit. Do NOT give away your info (SSN, DOB, whatever) to strangers who contact you (phone call, email, whatever). They are just phishing for your information. No need fretting over "how do we find out?"  Just ignore the [***].

I got the email today what's up with these people

I received the same e-mail on Friday morning as well. It should be against the law that these people are trying to scam people out of their hard-earned money. They are going to keep it up and somebody gonna find these people and open up a can of whip your ass which it will be well deserved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
