Caller had my first name, wife answered the phone, ID read Social Services. She handed phone to me and I hung up. Call was on a Saturday. I dont know of a social services agency that calls on a Saturday!

If you receive a call like that maybe ask for verification of the caller, like for them to to tell you the last "5" digits of your social security number. A lot of spam callers have the persons last 4 numbers.

If the call is a government agency, they should have that information.

they keep calling my elderly mom and want to know if she wants added to her husbands insurance...we can quess what is next--its a scam to get social security #, etc...They already have their separate ins.. and it has nothing to do with Social Security Co0rdinator...Who calls on Sundays that is legit !? Scam with a capital S...

This is Social Service Coordinators who was hired by my insurance company GHI.    You can call them at 866-761-5934.    I verified this with GHI and they are legit...

They are calling to try and save you money if we are eligible by your income. They do ask all kinds of personal & financial questions which made me weary but they are safe..

They called 2011-12-16 in the afternoon. This call originated from 305-777-0050 and "Social Svc Coor" came up on the caller id. This person spent a half hour on the phone and said that they were contracted with Anthem and they would help me receive money back depending on my income and that i would receive a package in a blue envelope restating the conversation and asked for photocopies of lots of vital information. The contact info that was given was the females name "Digna" and phone number 866-705-8732 Extension 4292. A Google seach turned up that number for

The person said they were from  social services coor, some of the questions I felt a little uneasy answering, it seemed ok but i'm not to sure, she new somethings about my problem.

They called me twice.  Apparently my 30 year old son (who is on disability) gave them my phone number because they called him first.  The information they wanted was the premium amount for medical insurance deducted from his benefits each month.  My son already had given  them his social security number.
They identified themselves as Social Services Center?  Not sure if legit or not.V3X

Any Insurance company has their own agents and offers direct savings to their clients. There is no reason for anyone to need financial information to provide anything for you. You apparently work for them!

I received 2 calls from them. First a girl, then a guy. Social services coordinators..Going to be called( My advocate) in Jan. 2014 .  Want to much info. ss# bank acc..Medicare card copy. My insurance card copy from blue shield and blue cross. Just too much info...I read one place this women had 900 dollars taken from her acc.  her daughter said it was from beauty shop, car shop. Poor woman. scammers need to be put in jail with rapist, cause thats what are. They told me address was Miami Lakes Florida. 14261 Commerce Way. 33016. they are suppose to send me a blue envelope with papers.

seems like they would have our info if they call us........how did they get our number. I have only a cellphone

I received a call last night from 305-777-0050. Caller said her name was Samira & Anthem Insurance would see if I was eligible for financial assistance for Medicare Sections B & D. Samira already had my information & she didn't ask for any information that could be used for ID or other financial crime. For the last few years I have received these calls & the packet has been mailed to me. In the past they have coordinated the paperwork and I have received "other help" with my Rx co-pay amounts.
When I receive the packet I plan on verifing whether thecurrent caller is legit by contacting Anthem.

I received a phone call from 305-777-0050 who stated they were patient advocates hired by Anthem to see if I am eligible for government assistance with medical costs. I called the 866-705-8732 that I was given to me if I had questions. The number was for the patient advocate company. I then called Anthem & Anthem verified that it is the company they contracted with to act as advocates.

This company is Very Much on the UP & UP.  They are called My Advocate.  They have been trying to contact me for months.  I finally answered the phone last week.  They are contracted thru insurance companies that deal with Medicare, disability, etc.  I have already received my packet in the mail as to the services that I can get help with.  They have to ask personal questions to see if you qualify for assistance in any way.  Because of my limited income with social security, My Advocate is going to see that the medical premium is not taken out of my ss check every month.  They also let me know where I could get $1500 hearing aids and I will only pay $100.  IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING, AS I AM, WITH MAKING ENDS MEET BECAUSE OF INCOME UNDER $1215 PER MONTH, I SUGGEST YOU STOP BEING PARANOID AND TALK TO THEM.  THEY MOST CERTAINLY WILL BE ABLE TO HELP YOU.  Yes, they are a telemarketer working on your behalf!!!

Too bad you hung up.  They could have possibly helped you with medical bills, glasses, hearing aids, property taxes, etc.  They work with Community Services to help people with low incomes get much needed health and economical issues solved.  They even have lawyers to assist you if needed.

You are wrong!!!  It is NOT a scam.  They work with community services to help people with lower incomes.  Your mom will probably be able to make more on her social security if she was added to her husbands insurance.  Rather than fear the call, answer it and see if they can help you in any way.  After ignoring their calls for months, I finally answered, talked with them and they have helped me with many issues.

You must be part of the dumbing down of America.  This company is on the UP & UP, as they have helped me with many issues.  Read my other replies to people with the same fear and negativity you have.  Too bad you didn't answer because you might have been able to get some much needed help.

Since they are not the actual insurance company but rather contracted out thru the insurance company, they will not have all your information at hand.  Talk to them and see if they can help in any way.  They are A Community Service that deals with all sorts of issues.  They can help with glasses, hearing aids, lawyers, property taxes, ss medical insurance deductions, etc.  You won't know until you talk with them.  If they can't help you, they will tell you or steer you in the right direction if you do need help with something.

This is a legitimate company.  I am dealing with them as I write this.  They have made it so social security does not deduct the medical insurance from my monthly check.  Yes, they ask personal information because they are not part of the insurance company but rather contracted out by your ins. co.  They are mainly for the benefit of people with lower incomes.  If you feel you do not need financial assistance in any way, just tell them to remove your name from their calling list.

It is definitely OK.  They will be able to help you in many ways.  They even asked me if there was something I needed help with and I told them I had past due property taxes.  They will help you if you just talk to them.
