Tito D - 4 Jul 2008I've received this Brazilian diet spam text message several days ago.
It's July 4th, 2008 that I'm posting this.
Best advice I can give is "do not" respond to it, since if you do it will confirm your cell-phone number is valid, and no doubt you'll get bombarded with more spam text messages. Simply delete it, and if you have call blocking available, block the number. I don't know if complaining to your cell-phone service provider would do any good, but you could always do that I suppose, since some people get charged for incoming text's depending on your provider and the plan you have.
This is just like those spam emails that are sent in bulk to see how many email addresses can be validated for (what else...) purposes of spamming.
I personally would seriously question the legitimacy of anyone trying to peddle a diet plan by text messaging.

Called my wireless carrier, and they instructed me to test "STOP" back to the number. Seems like a stupid thing to do, but I did it anyway... I'm sure this will come back to bite me.
