This is the second call I receive on my cell phone, the first from a different number.  The caller said they were from Mark Jackson, Attorney at Law's office.  I asked what state they were calling from and they said Florida.  they tried to tell me that I owed money and I was going to be sued if I did not pay immediately.  While they were on the phone, I went to the Florida Bar association and typed in the name of Mark Jackson.  Nothing came up, only a person who is NOT elligable to practice law.  I then asked for their state bar number and they refused to give it to me.  I told them it was public record and that I knew the only reason they would not give it to me was because they were trying to pull a scam.  They got upset and immediately hung up.

If you get a call like this, tell them that "this call will be recorded" and ask for their consent.  Then ask for their attorney's name and bar number and what state the attorney is from.  Look them up online on that states bar association to confirm that it is truly a scam.

Call is from alec jones. Was also calling from 213 261 5790 using the name alex watson. Their is also a woman calling. They use magic jack and pretty sure not even calling in U.S. since u can take it anywhere and plug into ur computer and make calls anywhere using a U.S. #

I got a call from them too. This needs to be taken care of.

Message is from Ray Parker stating "Need retainer attorney to respond to request as this is a time sensitive message. If you do not return the call or hear from attorney I can only wish you good luck as the situation unfolds for you. good bye " Numerous threats from this number and various associates stating that retainer attorney needs to respond in regards to a matter or they will file court charges. Last time this person called was 1 year ago when it was tied to identity theft resulting in loss of 460.00 from checking account. This number continues to call work and home numbers and threatens each call and is not a legitimate bill collector. Have logged police report with local police for threatening calls and identity theft. There is no trace for this phone number as its a call from outside the US routing into the US via pay phone and various fake phone numbers as mask. Occasionally caller ID is international number.

I too have gotten several calls from 305-906-3951 and a voice mail from a man who sounds like he just got off the plane from India. In his message he said that the matter was urgent and If I did not call him right back he could only wish me good luck because of the events about to unfold on me. I called the number and the phone was answered "Law Firm" I asked what law firm and was hung up on, so I waited an hour and called back, this time with my tape recorder and lawyer present. The lady informed me that I was under investigation by my states fraud unit and was charged with violating federal banking regulations and theft by deception. She then tells me that I will be arrested tomorrow if I do not pay them 2300 right now, I asked her who she worked for, the bar association number and their mailing address and she said I could not have that info that only my lawyer could obtain it. I tolder my lawyer would be in touch and was hung up on again. My lawyer knew right away it was a scam, so he called them back and told them he was my lawyer and asked again for the info and she gave him a bar number of 2389fl23 and an address of 2 Biscane BLVD, Miami, FL, He told her that they can not have me arrested on a civil matter, which if they did have a case it would be civil not criminal. She said just tell you client to wait and see, we are contacting the local police to have him arrested, then he told her good luck since I am out of work for 4 months due to an injury! And since his father is the chief of police where I live if they did try and have me arrested they would just laugh at them! The indian woman got very rude and demanded payment, so my suit told her that we would be contacting the payday loan shark with the tape recordings of these calls and file suit against them and her for violating the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. And then he was hung up on, and have not been called again, its good to have a lawyer for a friend!

I have been receiving the same calls from this person. One number is 305-906-3951 and the other number they used was 213 261 5790. Threatening me that I am a prime suspect in some kind of money thing and that I better retain an attorney or by Friday morning, I will be going to jail. They have called already today five times, in the time frame of an hour. Something needs to be done about this.

Calling from Delaware saying I owed a pay day loan to American Cash. I asked the name of attorneys and it was something ? Jackson  Said I had three federal charges against me and I better get an attorney

This is a scam. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE A PENNY. Report this to your local Attorney General as well as the FTC. When I got the call, I called the FBI and they immediately told me that this and all calls like this are frauds and they come from other area codes in California and Texas.

Do not waste your time with this scum, they claimed I had not paid back a loan and I was going to be under arrest and lose my job... What an idiot, bankruptcy laws protect you from that. They also call themselves Law Firm... Really, dumbass? Really? And try to call them back, it does not go straight to a Law Firm, but rather a disconnected call.

Do not be afraid people, they had no earthly idea who you are, they are Indian and are doing this overseas so they do not know the American law, and they are not going to do anything to you.

I also got a call from "Ray Parker" from "Joseph & Jackson Legal Association".  I looked them up and this firm doesn't exist ANYWHERE in the US, let alone Florida.  They were threatening "Criminal Legal Action/Arrest" (charge yet to be determined) by Monday and wanted my attorney information.  Now I'm not a lawyer but I do know that thingI told them I was calling the US Attorney's office (which I did) and believe it or not, they asked me to wait.  I had to hang up on them twice before they got the picture.  These scams need to be found and eliminated ... who needs this?

Got calls too, reported to local US Attorney.  A Ray Parker called me from "Joseph & Jackson Legal Associates", demanding money and threatening all kinds of criminal charges, etc.  Looked them up on line - that so-called "Legal Association" doesn't exist.  Period.  These people must be stopped!

They called us as well and said they were suing and pressing charges on me and that the warrant will be issued if 791.23 didn't get paid back and I told them I wanted to know how we supposedly got this money and they said it went to our bank acct which never took place. And I said I never got a dime and they said have your attorney call me back and we handle it from there. So does anyone know how to report these people from harassing people? Cause this needs to be taken care of.

Yes they called us from Keys Florida saying we owed them 791.23 and said it was owed to American Cash. And that they wired it to our bank account. Uh no they never wired any money to our bank acct. It is a big time scam so every1 please be careful and not fall for this. They said if this was not paid then we would be arrested at our front door. Are we the only 1s that go off on these people cause it sounded like a dude from overseas and then a woman got on the phone they answer the phone law firm.

they called us as well saying charges will b made if we dont pay them monies back that we got from them (which we never did) and i asked them for there website and then they said we can not provide that to you for us to please have our attorney contact them as they would prefer not to argue the matter with us they called from a california number roughly 2 weeks ago then they called again and put a woman on the phone with us saying the same thing. something needs to be done with these idiots and scams

These people have called me as well threatening legal action if they were not paid immediately.  I consulted the FTC, FBI, BBB, and my credit protection service about this.  It is all a scam from somebody in India or Pakistan as you can barely understand them to start with.  They are trying to screw hard working Americans out of their money.  The FBI and FTC are aware of this scam but at this time appear unable to actually catch and prosecute them for it.  They are relentless in their pursuit of our money.  They threaten you with legal action for violation of federal banking laws, credit card fraud, theft by deception and all other types of criminal actions.  It is all a scam people.  Tell them to buzz off that you have reported them to the authorities.

they are forever calling us saying we owe them monies or charges will b filed. what can we do to stop these scams cause we know we don''t owe anyone monies with the name of the people that they are saying. . they are taking peoples names and lying to scam people out of money. they sound like they can't even talk straight. it was a man and then a woman that got on the line
