My assistant received a call from these people... Jenkin Shaw and Associates.  Michael Burnett "lead investigator".  Hilarious.

someone call from this # and left a message in a house that I lived 8 years ago sayind that the person calling was Michael Burnet and that he was a sargent and that if I did not call him back he will go with the judge and get a warrent for my arrest, I'm here in california

I got the same call today. What did you do about it and did he put out a warrent for your arrest. Is this so called  company Association of Fraud Examiners for real?

So what happened Was it resolved and did you pay them money? Did they have you arrested?

First of all these people call my ex mother in lasw's house talking about they are calling the attorney general and they have this case number for me to refer to and if I dont they are going to issue a warrant for my arrest. Then somehow  the message goes on into detail that they need to get in toch with me ASAP.

The thing about this is you wont go to jail because you cant pay your bills. The only way that would happen was if you owed the IRS. Then yeah maybe you'd go to jail. This is a straight Scam.. There should be a way to get these people to stop calling  and third. Why bother to call me and tell me you are going to issue a warrant, DUH == you just issue it! -- IDIOTS!

This is probably the fake-debt-collector extortion scam explained by the FTC here http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt076.shtm  You do not get arrested for debt. Debt is handled in civil court and arrest is only for criminal court. Your caller is only trying to scare you into paying him extortion money.

I was called by this same phone number stating that my hubbie was going to be charged if we didn't pay a certain amount in full......well I did my own investigating and this info he was feeding me was not real...then he got mad at me and said , "I don't know why you are calling around, I already told you what u need to now......" he was doing me a favor and sticking his neck out for me.....lol. He supposedly was gonna make another trip to the courts to file the charges when I said I had to look into this since there are so many con artists out there nowadays.....he chuckled and said, "okay , you want to see a what a conartist I am, I'm gonna go press these charges and make sure u are also charged.....oh and if I were u I would walk lightly and try hard not to get pulled over....." now if that's not a threat, then I don't know what one is.
