Received call stating they were process servers and my social security number was identified in one of their records. I told them they will not get any information from me and take me off their calling list. They gave me a bogus case reference number and asked my to call 1-877-673-2015 which I did. The person I spoke with said the company PDI is located in Irvine California and also asked about my social security number. I told them the same thing, I don't give out that information and take me off their calling list.
    Beware of this scam!!!

Got a call from this number today calling themselves PDI Process Servers - For some time now, I have been receiving calls about a Wells Fargo checking account which is outstanding dating back to 2008 (I can find no record of such a debt). The first time this came up, I called Wells Fargo and they had no record of this kind of debt, nor have any record of selling it to any third party. When I ask for documentation, I am told they already sent it to an old address and do not have to send again. Now, the same people called my work to tell me that a process server with two "uniformed officers" will be coming to my place of work tomorrow to serve me with these papers - I called the sheriff's department, and they have no record of this. I guess we'll see if they show up - I had to tell my boss these phony process servers will be showing up.

I got a call from this number 305-999-7809 this morning wanting to know if my husband was going to be home between the hours of 12-2:00 so that a process server could come to the house.  I asked him why he didn't call him directly but he couldn't give me a reasonable answer.  Said he got my number from "court records".  And that I needed to pull over (I was driving) and write down another number that I needed to call.  I told him to just come out to the house, but he hemmed and hawed at that.  So I finally told him that I knew he was a scam and hung up on him as he's trying to continue the conversation.  Needless to say, he will be reported to the authorities.  This is the second time I've been called regarding the same scam.

The call was from Florida 305.999.7809 said he was a process server and to call this number 909.264.8497 within an hour. I called the number a man answered "hello". I said I was calling regarding the case # given to me. He asked me did I get a call at work. I asked what did it matter, he said it mattered because we have your place of employment for a garnishment and it can not be stopped unless I had an attorney. Do you have an attorney he asked? I said what is this about. He said are you at work? I told him you obviously don't know what is going on, so I am going to assume this is a scam. Good bye and hung up

Well here is your chance to do something.
This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

Called my cell number and a man stated he was a Massachusetts process server, I immediately knew it was a scam since it was a Florida number. Told me it was a second attempt to serve legal documents to a Brian Anderson. I told him he had the wrong number and be proceeded to tell me this person had listed my address as a family member & repeatedly asked me if I would be home tomorrow so i just hung up. He then called me more times back to back! I kept declining the call & thankfully they haven't called back

    Angry Mom
I received 3 calls from this number this morning: 2 to my cell and 1 to my landline, all within minutes of each other. I ignored all calls because it was from Miami FL, and a number I didn't recognize. "Maria" left messages on both of my lines, claiming they had documents to serve me at work, so I need to be sure to have identification. Well, since I've been disabled for over 15 years, I knew it was a scam.

However, what made me angry, after having no luck with either of my numbers, this "Maria" then called my daughter!!! Like me, my daughter doesn't answer calls she doesn't recognize, but "Maria" left a voicemail message saying the same crap she said in the messages to me. Needless to say, this scared my daughter because she didn't know what to think. I explained it was a scam, and told her to block the number.

I have no idea how they got my daughter's cell number. How dare they call her! It's bad enough to bother me, but I find it inexcusable that they called my daughter.

A company call CNA keeps calling me about a debt on a credit card that I have never had. They have also contacted my employer and family members saying that they have  a summons to deliver to me and that I have to call them within 1 hour. I received a call from this number asking for my former sister n law and I am also a former and we both have different last names now. This women said she was a process server and was trying to serve my former sister n law that she needed to show up in court. I kind of was caught off guard and asked how they knew to contact me and she said I came up as a known associate or realitive! I told her I would pass info on and I did but I always Google numbers and this company CNA (coastline and associates) found this site and now I know it's bogus! Should have known since the number is from Miami and the former and I live in two different states also!

Let the call go to voice mail. The message was intended for my spouse, even though she never used the number, threatened that a complaint would be served at the place of employment, gave a reference number and an 888 number for her attorney to contact "my client". Likely continuation of the scam. If they have something to serve, they should do so in the manner prescribed by relevant law.

Got several calls from this number. They called me, my wife, my mother and place of Employment all within 15 minutes. They left  messages on all phones stating there is a formal complaint that requires immediate attention. They have documents scheduled to be delivered at place of employment to have valid identification for proper delivery and if I or my attorney have any questions we need to contact their client (at another number given) and use this ref #----. Called the number and used reference number given. They were wanting money for unpaid debt and wanted me to pay it over the phone, but because I argued with the first women that couldn't answer any of my questions and asked to speak to her supervisor they knocked off a thousand dollars off the amount due and wanted me to pay if right over the phone and  If I don't take care of this could be arrested and sent to jail. Has to be a SCAM!

I received a call from this number about an hour ago. They left a voice mail message saying they were calling for a Karen Nash. I've received other calls from other numbers looking for someone with the last name Nash, as well. I don't know anyone by that name.

Got a second call  in about two weeks (see above), this time from "Mark Allen", saying this was about "a formal complaint demanding your immediate attention", and threatening service of legal papers.  Provided 888 number for his "client" if me or my attorney needed to contact, without disclosing either client's name or the caller's own name. Failure to disclose such information definitely marks it as scam for me. If they want to serve legal papers, let them. Plus, getting things in writing is always a good idea.
