- Jack| 1 replyRobocall - Caller ID says "Life Alert", but as soon as you pick up the recording starts with a female voice hawking their crap. It's another med-alert for seniors scam. If you're a senior, buy your medical alert from a reputable company, not on the basis of a stupid robocall that insults your intelligence. Since this is the first call reported, I won't block it, but if they call again I will.
- Caller: Life Alert
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Joe| 7 repliesSame as Jack above. We are on DNC list. We're seeing a lot of these types of calls - wish FTC / FCC would crack down on people violating DNC lists. Even got one on my cell phone recently!

- Anonym| 1 replyrobocall from 307-316-7473 caller ID said "LIFE ALERT" on Thursday 08-28-14 @ 210 PM.
message already going talking about seniors falling and dying and you need to press 1 to talk to a representative
or press 9 to be removed,
pressed 1 and the message came on the line and said "You are the 53rd call in line waiting for a representative - thank you for your patience. then 44th call waiting......then 43rd, 41st, 40th, and then 37th call waiting.
taking to long to talk to a live SCAMMER so decided to hang up- Caller: med alert SCAM
- Chuck replies to Joe| 6 repliesWe too, are on the DNC list-I think it was a mistake to sign up on that list, as now everyone and their damn dog calls me..
- Sally| 1 replyI didn't answer call so I'm not sure what they're scamming, but it mostly likely the same as the above.
They hung up on answering machine.- Caller: Life Alert
- J| 1 replythese people steal a legit phone number so that you will answer it. The Phone companies and government can do nothing about it because they are overseas. They haven't figured out a way to stop them from stealing real numbers. My number has been stolen so I have told my friends not to answer. if it's really me, I'll leave a message. This has nothing to do with the DNC list these are crooks trying to get your credit card numbers. If you answer the call they know they have a live number. Then they sell you to everyone. Just keep blocking these numbers. A real person will leave you a message if it's important.
- BoldbearI'd have to be really stupid to purchase anything from a cold call. I wonder what their statistics are like? Maybe 2 in 1000 calls? Someone has to fall for this stuff in order to make it worth the scammer's time. I also wonder if this is a generational thing. If I'm going to purchase something, I go to the internet and do as much reading as I can. If I didn't have that tool, I'd be vulnerable.
- Caller: Life Alert
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Ken| 1 replyI asked them if they were a legit business and they assured me they were. I then asked if the followed the law in their calls and they said they did. I asked if they observed the do not call list and they said "absolutely". I told them I have been on the list since it's inception and obviously they were NOT a legitimate business and told him "Don't call again A***ole. He hung up.
If someone cold calls you and you're on the DNC list, you KNOW they aren't legit of follow ANY laws. Off to report this to the FTC, for whatever good that will do.- Caller: Life Alert

- mark denver co| 5 repliesI think these people use the fed do not call list to get phone numbers
- me| 2 repliesCALLER iD says Life Alert
I will never do business with someone who cold calls me. How does someone know that you are really the person or the company you are claiming to represent. Must be the worst job in the world if this is for real as there are so many scammers out there it is impossible to trust any cold callers.- Caller: Life Alert
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Tamianth replies to mark denver co| 1 replyAbsolutely not true! All they have to do is plumb in numbers to a dialer or computer and go for it. They have no need to purchase a list from any one and the DNC has to be paid for. There is a protocol for that.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus27-complying-telemarketing-sales-rule - It IS ALL A SCAM FOLKS! replies to SallyNever answer, life alert will NEVER call you! Why should they? You can easily google their number or wait until a commercial come to get their number.
Scammers will doop you any way they can!
Foreigners - It IS ALL A SCAM FOLKS! replies to JAmen, sadly there are a lot of people who fall for these obvious scams every single day. Hence, why the calls continue and the numbers and disguise change.
- It IS ALL A SCAM FOLKS! replies to Kenscammers don't care about the Do Not Call List. They are criminals. The number will change soon as well as their pitch. If people would STOP giving personal information over the phone then these calls will become unprofitable to the scammers.
- | 2 repliesFolks, telemarketing scams are the new email spams. They are not going to stop and they will call from a variety of numbers and use a variety of scams. Blocking the numbers are completely useless, the criminals will use another number tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that. Speaking to them is a no-no! They are criminals. Criminals do not care. So do not press any buttons to be taken off their list. Just recognize the call and don't pick up and report the call.
The caller ID is always a dead giveaway that the caller on the other end is a scammer. It is always an unsuspecting caller calling from an unknown number. Caller ID is generally wireless caller or Unknown caller or unknown name-or some other random unsuspecting caller id, like the name of a city or state. If you have not done business with them, don't fall for their scam. Never ever ever do business over the phone. Never ever ever do business over the phone. Repeat repeat, repeat.
Know the signs!!! Once you get a scam call you will get many many many many more. Just ignore the calls and report them to the appropriate authorities. Please report. Also, and more importantly, please warn others, especially the elderly and the gullible!
The criminals are looking for personal information and credit cards. There is no service, no reward, no company, no free device, lowering of credit card rate, computer fix, no medical alert and etc. Nothing but theft. Never ever give out personal information over the phone. Never ever give out personal information over the phone. Please repeat. Especially do not provide information over the phone to callers that call you!
Be smart folks, know the signs, do not provide personal information over the phone, warn others, ignore the calls, and report!!!- Caller: Scammers looking to steal
- RTThey just called me. I've received various scam calls from various spoofed caller IDs every weekday for over a year. Today is one of the few weekend calls. This is a new number I just blocked. Since they are spoofed, I guess there's no way for any government to track these scammers and I'm not paying my carrier (who is also my employer) $36 to change my number.
- Caller: loser scam artist
- AnonymousKeep calling even from a spoof number, about a Life Alert System, So I'm not an elderly and not need that [***] for my mother, this is a fake business try harder to steal your personal info, BEWARE.
- Caller: Cheyenne, WY Even from there comes these annoying calls.
- GWIt is so easy to munge your number to appear to be anything with online services. I use such products for my work as a secret shopper when I must appear to be calling from a local town, and you know the scammers use it for their illegal purposes as well. The DNC lists mean NOTHING when the cretins calling are scammers. :(

- KellieMThis is from the Life Alert website:
Fraud Alert
It has come to our attention that senior citizens nationwide are receiving pre-recorded messages from medical alert imposters claiming to be Life Alert. These are unauthorized, unsolicited, recorded calls that invite you to push the #1 number on your phone to connect to a live sales person.
The recordings sound like a real person claiming that either “someone has purchased a Life Alert system for you”, or that “You qualify for a free Life Alert.” Other calls may say they are calling from a shipping department to confirm a free order or to send upgraded Life Alert equipment. These calls are not made by Life Alert. All of these are telemarketing scammers trying to mislead and defraud consumers by using our trademarked name so they can get your address, credit card number and bank information to charge you.
We would like to remind you that Life Alert does not employ telemarketers or perform cold calls so if you do receive a recorded call saying they are Life Alert or the “I’ve fallen and can’t get up” people, please DO NOT press the #1 button to talk to a sales person.
More importantly never give your personal information or credit card number over the phone to anyone which you did not initiate the call.
Life Alert Emergency Response is investigating this nationwide telemarketing scam and is currently working with the authorities.
If you have any question or concerns in regards to this matter, please send an email to wecare@lifealert.com
Thank you,
Life Alert

BTW, I'm a little offended that they called me....I'm not even close to being elderly LOL.- Caller: FAKE Life Alert
