Well of course it's a legit offer. Why spend all that time sitting in a classroom when you can be "THE BOSS" today? Do you think everyone gets a degree in a legit fashion? Think about how dumb the bosses all are and call today to get your 6 year Masters in less than 48 hours.  Show em all how clever you really are.

Of course, there are many other ways to see if you really have the education, and when in three days the hiring company finds out you bought a fake diploma you'll be fired.  Stories will go around about you to other such companies in your area.  Then you'll really be screwed.  These guys will have driven up to Chicago and blown your $200 already, if they're really in Peoria in the first place.  Nothing worth having ever comes easy... but then that's half the fun, isn't it?

I read another blog that tracked the IP back to Beijing, its being served through CHINANET, which is home of thousands of spamsters and phising sites, and everything else commie.

No this is absolutely not legitimate.

More to the point, it's a crime. There's a very well-researched blog about this type of scam:

http://diplomamillnews.blogspot.com/

You'll see story after story of people getting arrested and sued after it comes to light that their credentials are completely fake.

Would you ever go under the knife if your doctor received their "medical degree" this way?

Would you want to be represented in court by a "lawyer" with a fake degree?

Would you want someone messing with your electrical after they showed you their "degree" in engineering?

Here's where that phone number is located:

http://www.whitepages.ca/search/ReversePhone? ... ocaltime=survey

(309) 407-3749

Type: Land Line
Provider: Mcleodusa Telecommunications Services
Location: Peoria, IL

We should all be reporting this number to that company.

Theoretically, you're right...we should all be reporting this scam to the phone service provider (Mcleod), and to the local better business bureau, and to the country prosecutor, and to the IL attorney general, and to >spam@uce.gov< etc., etc., but the sad fact is that we'd just be wasting our time because none of the above (or anyone else, for that matter)gives a damn about these bottomfeeding criminal parasites. And that's why they continue to prey on innocent, gullible mooches who want to believe they can get something for nothing. If anyone DEFINITELY knows how to stop these criminals, please post your info here. Be specific. Thank you!
