Caller ID just says "0"  (zero)

a quick search shows that it's a land-line in Varna, IL

It was a man, definetly had a middle eastern accent.   Could barely understand him, but he was trying to get me to tell him things about my computer and try different things while he was on the phone.  He would not tell me how he get my number or where he was calling from.  Talked about Microsoft updates. I hung up on him and he called right back very mad. I hung up on him again and then he did not call back .

Got a call from that number on 4/8/14, caller ID said Varna, IL. Caller did not leave a message.

I had received calls from a similar 'computer guy' in the past trying to tell me I had a virus and follow his instructions on 'my computer'. I had a lot of fun leading him astray as I am a computer professional and have multiple PCs, Mac and tablets :-)

He was trying to get me to look for an unwanted file that could crash my computer and lose everything forever.....When I told him he can talk to our IT and Computer  Security person and quickly shut up.. Sounds like he's up to know good. Got pretty mad every time I said I wasn't having any computer problems and I was not interested.

Not middle eastern. "Dave" or "Steve" calling from India.  HANG UP. SCAM ARTIST. I gave him a lesson in NY English curse words and expressions last week. Has not called back. Just do not answer.

Me too.  I acted as if I didn't have a computer in the house.  I tried to keep him on the phone as long as possible.  He said do I have windows.   I said yes... I have many windows...  He started talking about face book and google and I pretended I didn't understand.  I rarely receive these call because of google voice so I had some fun.

Yup, got a call and he was so rude. He started saying who the hell are you? and i retorted back. He said Do u even know who I am?? like who cares. I really gave a piece of my mind and he hung up. Surely scammers trying to gain control of the computer but absolutely no knowledge.

I received a call from this same middle eastern guy at 11:32 am CDST telling me that I had a serious computer problem.  I asked him how long he has been in the computer industry.  He told me that this call was being recorded.  I asked again how long in the computer industry and he said 30 years.  I then told him that I have been in the industry 45 years (and that is accurate and honest).  He told me to "go and [***] yourself" and hung up!!

Yup, same scenario. Guy with heavy accent says he is from the IT dept of Windows and I just let out a string of choice words and hung up. I may do like some of the other folks in this 800Notes forum and next time one of these computer scammers calls I'll just play with him until he hangs up. I have a good enough working knowledge of PC's and Macs to mess around a bit. Or a byte!!

I received a call from this number from a woman who asked to speak to the owner of the number.  When I said no one was available and could I take a message, she asked how old I was.  I informed her that I was not authorized to make decisions for the household.  Then she told me that she had a friend that wanted to marry me.  I informed her to delete our number from their list and to not call back again.  She tried to keep talking to me, but I talked over her and told her again not to call.  I also told her that I would report her, but I heard her say something like "it wouldn't matter".  I told her to not call back again and hung up.  We have previously received the computer call that others have received, but that wasn't the one today.  The whole number that showed up on the ID was 1-202-204-0484-309-474-0863.

Received two phone calls on Apr 17, 2014.  The first, caller ID indicated the phone number was 309-474-0863 at 1:15 PM.  The second call came in at 5:52 PM, from telephone number 210-526-6628.  In each instance, I let the call go to voice mail and with both calls, a male said, "Hello" twice before hanging up.  The voice sounded the same with both calls.

I actually mentioned to the woman calling that I wasn't a computer person, I am an actor and this is not my number. After asking to be taken off her call list, I hung up. Received another call from a man CLAIMING TO BE A DIRECTOR WHO "LIKES MY LOOK!" Bwahahaha! I started to mess with him, "Did my agent give you my number at home? He never does that! What are you directing?" He fell for it and called his "show" a "movie" instead of film or production and had no name (of course). Messed with him getting pissed that a professional director would directly contact me at home instead of thru my agent (which is true if he was for real). He asks, "You don't believe I'm a director?" I said, "I'm an actor, not an idiot, never call me again!" and hung up. He called me 4 times! I reported the number. WTH? It's fun to mess with them though...

This is a scam. Do not answer 1-309-474-0863. He is a computer hacker wanting to get into your computer ... total scam

This person knows my name and wants me to give him informations about my computer.  I do not know how he know my name it is very annoying.  Is there a way to make them stop calling?
