- BobSome Scam.
- DRa phone line prober-crawler-bot looking for a FAX machine. I picked up and listened because the caller id was spoofed ("PS"). It called back directly when I hung up. This time there was no FAX tone. I could hear a tv in the background. This must be someone's night SPAM job.
- C| 1 replySaid they were Publishers head quarters. I am a finalist qualifying to win a prize. I was entered through my bank or credit card. I dont believe that. They verified my address. They went on to offer me free magazines. Told em I didnt want them. They wished me luck in the sweepstakes and that was end of call. I tried calling number back to find out who they are and to get my info removed from their system and keep getting a busy signal.
- ska001| 1 replyI got the same thing that "C" did. I'm really worried. Do yall think that I should be? I was called on November 19, 2007.
- AmaJust received a call from them ON MY CELL PHONE - same thing as C. Irksome.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ForeverudisI got a call from i think the same number a year back and again just now. They had the samething to say like i was entered in a contest by my bank or credit card company and that I was one of the finalists. They wanted to verify my address and they had it. I cut her off in the middle and said that i was not interested. Last time when this happened, i changed all my cards by cancelling them and asking the banks and credit card companies to send me new ones. I am confused now as to what to do about this.
- D61Received call on my work number 651-254-7042 which sounded lika a fax, then minutes later received a call from 310-241-2966. I've received a couple of calls from this number in the past week.
- LTI have received calls from both 310.241.2966 and 310.241.2969 on my cell phone. One call was in the evening and another early morning. I haven't answered and whoever is calling hasn't left a message.
- sisdiscoJust got a call from this number. I am in Dallas and don't know anyone in San Pedro, CA, with a landline. According to Intellius that's what this is, but I didn't fork over any cash for more info. I just don't get that many wrong numbers. Meow.

- TinaCalled on my cell. Said they were Publishers head quarters. I asked where they got my number as I am on the no call list. She said they would remove my number.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- cdGot a call early in the morning on my cell phone. I didn't know the number so I pushed the side button so my voicemail would pick up. They called right back. I did the same thing and they didn't leave a message. I also have not entered any sweepstakes. With my job that I have I am on all do not call list, and my number to my house is unlisted. I don't know what to do besides to just keep hanging up on them.
- christinereceived call, didn't know number and i didn't answer, couldn't call the number back it gave me a busy signal
- scuderipdSame thing happened to my husband last night. (July 1, 2008) Asian sounding woman called my husband's cell phone, asking for me. We don't know how they got my husband's cell phone number or my name. Tried to call number back, but only got a busy signal. Phone number showed 310-241-2966. We are on a "do not" call list.

- Bernadette BCall read "PS" 310.241.2966 in ID box of landline at 415pm...not known to me, so I didn't answer. Went to machine and left no message, annoying idiots.
- Caller: PS
- lividcheck your bank accounts folks. 2 days later they were using my bank card all over southern CA and ID. Cleaned my account out.
- lividSAme as 310-241-2966. even though no one was on the other end and there was a busy signal when I tried to call it back, it was somehow connected to them having my bank card number and using it in these two cities. San Diego and Chula Vista.
- char replies to Cthis can also be a call from magazine subscription to verify that you bought magazines from a child at school during a fundraiser. so don't automatically dismiss it if you signed up for magazines from a school fundraiser.
- Kat replies to ska001I wouldn't worry unless you gave them any personal non-public information. I just got called by them - wanted to verify my address. Unless you have a non-published phone number -- all you have to do is google yourself and your name, number and address is right there! Yes, scary - but that is public information. When the woman asked my age, and said she wanted to find out more about me -- that is when I told them I do NOTHING over the phone -- so she said the same thing she did to several others above. . ."good luck. . .bla bla bla". One of my credit cards is having some kind of prize thing going on - but I would think THEY would be the ones to call me if I won. I'm sure I haven't won anything - I already know -- my ship sank on the way in!! Just never give a caller any info that can't be found on public sites! If you really won anything - they should send it through the mail --- then if they scam you it is mail fraud! Best to all -- be extra careful during this holiday season -- I am sure the scammers are out by the droves!
- LLGot the same call today on my CELL PHONE!
- Caller: publishers something
- Zeus7625Got the call today on my work cell phone. I was a finalist in some kind of drawing and she rattled off a bunch of big money prizes I was eligible to win. Verified my address, made small talk about the weather and then started probing for information. I stopped her at the first question. She asked if i wanted out of the running for the first prize, I said "whatever, goodbye."
