Got a call and I remembered getting a call from a carpet cleaner months ago that I wanted to call back but never got the chance. I called to get some info and the girl was very rude dismissive and hung up on me. I'm just trying to get some info and request to be removed from their list, but they keep hanging up. Are there any laws against me calling back until I get my request satisfied? Do we have any other recourse?
It seems to be the same one as everyone is reporting here. I've obtained several names they go by: AAA Carpet Care, Best Carpet Cleaners, Best Carpet Care, On-Time Carpet Cleaning, and Infinity Carpet Care. Addresses I've found are 14709 Vanowen in Van Nuys and 18541 Sherman Way in Reseda.
Every Tuesday morning I get a phone call from 310-388-8021. I am on the Do Not Call registery. Since it is a recording, I can't get pertinent information to report them. When will they stop?
Got my fourth call within 2 weeks last month. Same hangups as others report. I went to their website. It had a Better Business Bureau logo. Called BBB to find out if they really are members. They were not. BBB said they would investigate. I see their website has been removed. Small satisfaction since they called again today. Got into a little heated discussion with "the guy with the accent" before he hung up again.
Didn't pick up, but I've been receiving calls at least once a week for at least a couple of months now from this outfit. I don't understand how they are getting away with this. I thought there were substantial penalties for Do-not-call list violations. What entity is responsible for enforcement? I was surprised to read here that people are complaining to BBB—Isn't there a government number to call?
It was an unfamiliar number so I let it go to voice mail. They left no message. I Googled the number and found this site. Thanks to everyone who posted the details of this annoying carpet cleaning company. How do they get away with it when I'm on a "do not call list"?
they've called me twice, but from Julie of best carpet cleaners. today i pushed 1 to speak with someone and a girl answered and I said i'm on do no call and she hung up. I just called 310-388-8021 and it keeps hanging up before ringihg.
I posted on May 3 and I got another call today. "Wendy" told me they are in NY and their phone number is 212-268-2415 (probably a lie as they lied last time I asked for their phone number). I asked if 800-376-1983 is also their phone number and she said "no... wait, how did you get that number?" LOL. I told her it doesn't matter how I got the number, because it's not hers. I then spoke with a guy with an accent, but I couldn't get any info from him. At least I wasted some of his time.
Got a call yesterday and pressed 1 intending to get them to come out so I could lock them in the basement as ransom for their autodialer delivered to me in a box that I can smash with my baseball bat. They failed to connect though. They called again today but it went to voicemail. Drat. I googled their address and found another number for them: (510)429-8955.
Both the 800-376-1983 and 510-429-8955 numbers are (May 16) out of service.
A few weeks back I registered this number with the do not call registry. When I got the same call again from the same party today I decided I needed a different strategy. So - I am calling them at 888-279-6050, letting them answer and hanging up every time. I push auto redial and just continue the practice - its kind of a devotional mediation. I recommend that everybody does this. You can do this while practicing deep breathing and envision a better world! If everyone did this for a wee 20 minutes a day I think they will rethink there practice.
I believe another number of theirs is 888-279-6049 (just one number away from the previous poster's note. If you go to this link: http://yp.yahoo.com/yp/South_Whittier_CA/Home ... ry/8109637.html and look at Pro Carpet Cleaning, you will see that they are at 6803 Cedros Ave, Van Nuys, CA 91405. From the "More Info" link, you will see the other another number of theirs: 8003761983. Also, if you do a search you will find that this is right around the corner from 14705 Vanowen which is a previously listed address.
A little more sleuthing shows me that they have 888-279-6051, 888-279-6052, 888-279-6053, 888-279-6054, 888-279-6055, 888-279-6056, 888-279-6057, 888-279-6058, and 888-279-6059.
Now if we can get the names, home addresses and home phone numbers of these crooks, we can call them at home to ask them if they would like their carpet cleaned.
I like what devotional meditation has to say a few comments up, and that strategy. But is it certain that 310 388-8021 can be traced to 888-279-6050?

Also, go to http://local.yahoo.com/ and do a search for 888-279-6049 and see how many different locations this number refers to. Also try the other numbers I have posted. While you are there, you can rate these companies.
Ha ha ha. I just took your advice and called them straight for about 10 minutes. They even had the owner start answering the phones. DROVE THEM CRAZY. They should take some of their own medicine but I doubt that it will stop them.
